A Bad Dream....

"For the Lord takes delight in his people;
he crowns the humble with salvation.
Let the saints rejoice in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds."
Psalm 149:4-5
I woke up at 2:00 a.m. this morning with a horrific dream. It was so bad, I woke up and told my husband that it was like something demonic. We prayed and prayed about it. I had a strong feeling that it was a warning of some kind to pray. As we prayed, Lowell prayed that I would forget the dream. I have for the most part. What I haven't forgotten is the urgency to pray. I know I prayed at least an hour aloud and in the Spirit. I prayed for forgiveness, repenting of known sins. My husband did the same. I prayed for others and for our family to do the same.
I cannot help believing that there is an extreme urgency to pray for this election as well. I'm not ashamed to say that I will be voting for Senator McCain. However, I'm perfectly aware that Senator Obama may indeed be the victor. Either way, our country is in great need of prayer. I don't know the true state of the candidates' souls. I don't know. I know that God does. Please join me in praying for true salvation through the shed blood of Jesus for our country's leaders. It doesn't matter who wins if he's truly 100% God's man. Right now, I'm not so sure.
Please join me in prayer.

  1. Laura,
    I will join you in prayer. A similiar thing has happened to me twice in the past 2 weeks. One morning I even woke up in tears and couldn't shake the despair so phoned my husband at work to pray with me.

    Regardless of the outcome of this election, our country truly is in dire need of prayer. I try not to fear for our future but it is something I struggle with right now.

    Thank you for sharing your heart. You have brought some additional things to my attention that I need to take to the Lord.

    May the Lord bless you as you continue to share your wisdom,
    Lea

  3. I totally agree with you Laura, and I too am not ashamed to say I'll be voting for McCain/Palin and it's with a honest heart that I can do so. Our country does need prayer, I'll join you there!

  4. I to have felt an urgency and overwhelming need to pray about our nations future. If Sen. Obama wins this election our country is headed for fearful times. But even so, I know God is in control. There is peace and refuge for His children in these times. We will hold onto our faith and face whatever comes.
    God bless and keep you.
