Getting in the Wood in the Fall
I'm looking forward to seeing The Cottage in the Fall again! We had low temperatures today in the '60's! That's unheard of here in Southwest Missouri in August. I sure did enjoy it though. It put me in the mood for the crisp Autumn mornings and cozy Autumn evenings. Hope you have a beautiful day....

  1. Beautiful pictures. I am looking forward as well to the changes of the seasons. When we can finally open the windows and doors to allow the fresh air in...it has been steamy/humid here in western NY. Blessings sweet friend.

  4. It is still rainy / humid here, but thankfully in the 80's and not 95 degrees. Still lots to do around the old place before cooler weather, so I'm not rushing it any. That fall photo of your family, it looks like they were having a lot of fun.

  5. I will add to the list of Linda's commenting.
Fall is my favorite season. I love the colors, the cooler weather, but not so much cutting fire-wood. I am happy to have it in the winter, tho.

I live in Texas so I enjoyed today's cooler weather also. It was 66 degrees here today, a record low high. I wanted to stay out in it all day! lol!

  6. I left a couple of comments. I don't know how but I was on older posts. I don't know if they will show up for you. Anyway. I noticed the Lizz Curtis Higgs book. Thanks for sharing it. I want to see if I can get it at my library. Oh I know how I got to them you linked the video at a party. I watched it then started reading posts. I'm kinda silly sometimes. Thanks for sharing the book. I'll check it out.

  7. Yes, Annie, we need to cut wood. We'll have to buy it this fall.

  9. Your cottage and it's setting looks lovely. The weather seems all mixed up this summer. On the west coast (Washington state) we have been having record setting heat all season. Today has been cooler and I am thankful because the Eastern half of our state is experiencing terrible fires. Thanks for your visit : )

  12. Hi Jann,
All the best photographs on my blog are done by Amy my fourteen year old. I broke the camera last month, so I've been getting by with my IPod. Not the best photos, but better than nothing...I think!

  22. Hi Laura,

Our annual wood stacking day is a day our whole family looks forward to and enjoys. We usually get our winter's wood delivered in late July or early August. I am going to email you a link to a photo of one of those annual celebrations.
