No Wonder ~ Anne of Green Gables

Ever take one of those silly on-line quizzes to see what character you are in a book or movie? I usually skip them, but awhile back I ran across one for the book Anne of Green Gables. I just couldn't pass it up. The result?

I'm Anne Shirley.
No wonder it's one of my favorite books.
No wonder I relish the language in the book so much.
No wonder I chose to be Laura of Harvest Lane on-line when I began my blog.
No wonder I named my eldest daughter Emily Anne with an E.
No wonder I don't keep liniment or raspberry cordial in my kitchen.
No wonder I like to write, and I enjoy big words.
No wonder I enjoy reading the dictionary.
No wonder I like red hair.
No wonder I'd like to own the movie someday.

I just had to change format. It just seemed more dramatic. ~grin~ Have you read the book? It's one of the most delightful books I've ever read. The language is superb. Grab a copy from your library or get a Kindle edition for a pittance. Now, I cannot leave you without a quote.

"It's been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will."
— Anne, L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Have a beautiful day just enjoying who you are, who you love, and Who made us all.

Blessings,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage

  1. Hello there, Laura!

I always come across those little quizzes too, some I take and some I pass by.I must say this quiz sounded like a good one. I haven't read that book in a long time. I love the sweetness about those books. And the movie is one of my favorites! I'm reading a book by Wanda Brunstetter called A Merry Heart. It's a sweet Amish story. I just love her books! So clean and with a Christian view. Yep! Good book!

I love what you've done with your blog. So Fall, indeed!

It's been getting rather chilly here at night and in the mornings. I've had to start fires in the wood stove almost every morning. Brrr!

My guys are off hunting and I'm getting caught up on blogs and house work.

I hope you have a delightful weekend! Take Care sweet friend! :o)

    Hugs, Amy

  2. Hi Amy,
I'll bet that is a good book. I've not read anything by Mrs. Brunstetter yet, but I've seen her name. Clean books are such a blessing!

I suppose I'll have to figure out something new for the blog for after Thanksgiving. I hope I can remember how I changed it!

My Michael (16) is working ahead on his lessons so that he can hunt when the season opens here on the 14th. Are your guys camping, too? We are fortunate that we have enough acreage that Michael can hunt here.

It's always nice to have the house to myself for awhile to get things done without them being undone!

I loved hearing from you, Amy. I always do. I'll be by for a visit in awhile.

    Your friend,
    Laura

  3. I love Anne of Green Gables. Thanks for the smiles...very chilly here and the last couple of days, quite monsoonal and very windy as well...sigh, that is life in the north in the fall. Have a beautiful upcoming Friday. Blessings

  4. You too, Linda. I've got brown beans in the crockpot. I seasoned them with a package of french onion soup mix and a carton of beef broth. Just using up what I have on hand. You know how it is. I'll make some cornbread for the family, but I'm trying to get back to Trim Healthy Mama. So, it'll be just beans for me. ~smile~

    Blessings for a wonderful weekend!

  8. I'm glad, Roxy!
We need all the smiles we can get and give. It's a lovely rainy morning. It feels very Novembery. I must go into work at the restaurant at lunchtime. We have a bus coming in. Afterward, I think I'm going to put together a nice pot of soup for suppertime.
Wish we could visit over tea!

  13. Such a fun book. I got to be in a community theater production of Anne of Green Gables as a child. What a wonderful experience!

  14. I love all those books and the movies! I have to confess that my favorite author for the words is Dickens. I read him slowly and even write down favorite phrases.
