The Perfect Baby Shower Gift ~ Baby Bibs

I sewed baby bibs this week. I had some leftover fabric from a couple of dresses I'd made. I bought some cotton batting with a 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby and a gift card I got for my birthday.

I will have gifts for my baby niece, a friend at church who is expecting, and extras for my gift box.

There's something about sewing that is so calming for me. It's as though God meant for me to do it. Sadly, I have neglected it for most of my life because I always thought there was something else I should do. I hope to make it a new habit. A habit of joy.

  1. I can sew a button on, but that is the extent of my sewing ability. But I always enjoy marveling at the creations of you who can sew.

The bibs are really cute. I especially love the pink one. I'm sure the recipients of the bibs will love them---a beautiful, practical gift AND made with love by hand.

    Have a blessed day.

    Love,
    Patti

    1. I love to get handmade things Patti. I understand though. I cannot paint or draw or do artsy things. I'm a needle girl—primarily sewing, knitting, crochet.

I'll be over for a visit in just a bit.

  3. Your bibs are adorable, my friend! There is a sweet lady in our church that is having a baby in August and I'm thinking maybe a handmade bib to go along with the blanket I made her is a must :)

    Hugs to you!

  5. Those are wonderful!
I love the fabrics you used.
    I need to make some,
The grands neck is too round for the infant ones,
And he is too small for the size of the larger purchased ones.

    1. I used a pattern I printed out a hundred years ago from a blog that is no longer online. I googled, but couldn't find her anywhere. That's why I didn't share the link. Perhaps you can use the neck of one of his shirts that fits to get a size for the neck.

      Have a wonderful week!
