Happy Homemaker Monday ~ May 14, 2018

As I write ...  Sunday evening

The weather.... Sunny and quite warm.

Right now I am... relaxing after a three day weekend celebrating my birthday, my father's birthday, and Mother's Day.

Thinking... I'm thinking about purchasing a set of size 0 knitting needles. I have a new friend, Colleen, who is going to teach me to make socks.

A quote to share...

"True Christianity finds all of its doctrines in the Bible;
true Christianity does not deny any part of the Bible;
true Christianity does not add anything to the Bible.
For many centuries the Bible has been the most available
book on the earth.  It has no hidden purpose.
It cannot be destroyed."

    My prayer for you, my reader...

    Jesus, I thank you that you hear our prayers. Father, I thank you for sending Jesus. Holy Spirit, I thank you for being our comforter and our teacher. Lord God, three in one, I thank you that you personally know each one of my readers. You know each one's needs, fears, hopes, problems, pains, and illnesses. I ask you God to speak directly to each one, to meet each person's needs, and heal each physical problem. Bless each spiritually, physically, socially, and financially. I ask it all by the power of the Blood of Jesus, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

    Thanks for dropping by!
    Please say hello.

    2. Please share you sock journey. I learned to make socks from Winwick Mum's book Super Socks by Christine Perry. It is still a work in progress. I use a 2mm 9 inch circular needle except for toes and heel. I enjoy your blog. Diane in Tennessee

      1. Hi Diane, I'm hoping to get a phone with a better camera. If I do, I'll try to include photos and tell a bit more about my knitting including learning socks. I've made Christmas stockings and fuzzy feet. I've even made myself one pair of socks, but they are too large, so I sleep in them in the winter. I'm going to learn from someone who knows how to size them.
        God bless!

    3. Laura, I hope you've been doing well. I've been a bit absent from my blog and blogs in general so I feel like I've missed so much.

      Glad you had a great weekend, and I wish you a blessed wonderful week ahead. :)

    7. Thank you for that prayer at the end, Laura, and also the Billy Graham quote about the bible!

      Did you watch the Jerusalem embassy opening ceremony? It was amazing.

      1. You're welcome, Sandi. I was able to watch part of the ceremony before my husband needed me. It was one of the most momentous moments in history. Hmmm...that's rather redundant, isn't it?
        Be blessed,

      1. Hi Jodi!
        I forgot to order my needles, so I have to wait another week. I'm working with a super bulky yarn to make a hat right now. Sock yarn will feel tiny!
        I need to start taking photos of what I've been working on and share them on the blog. I'm going to pop over to your blog in just a bit and poke around a bit. I hope you have a lovely week and get lots done!

      1. Hello Carol,
        I am glad to read from you! I am finally learning to pace myself instead of flat wear myself out at every opportunity! Thank you so very much for continuing to pray for me. Just four more chemo treatments! I cannot wait to be done. I am trusting God I'll never have to go through chemo or radiation again. For that matter, I'll never hear another cancer diagnosis again!
        God bless you!

    12. I love your encouraging post today. It blessed me.

      I read the link to the old fashioned housekeeping post that you put up. I was amazed to see they same system that I grew up on. My mother did that entire system for years and years, and I have the whole thing (set up for another house) somewhere in my boxes. She even took me to see the "Sidetracked ladies" when I was a teen. Through the years, I have done it off and on. Maybe this will encourage me to find it! I do know that my mother's house was always super clean and organized, and it was especially helpful during us 3 girls' teen-age years, she said, because she could just lay out some cards (chores) for us to do, and not get into a battle over it:)
