Unconditional Love.... Just in Case You Ever Wonder by Max Lucado

One of the things I love about my Amy is that she still likes to sit with me on the sofa and listen as I read the newest children's books that I review. Last night, on the eve of her 18th birthday, Amy sat with her dad and me while he read a splendid picture book. It's Just in Case You Ever Wonder by Max Lucado. I think that sitting together with momma like that reminds of us of her childhood and of the hope we have of more children in our family after my kids marry. ~smile~ She's helping me choose Grammy books.

I do wish I'd taken some photos last night. Amy just cuddled up by her dad as he read. I think we all appreciated the significance of reading that last story book to her on the last evening of her childhood. All through the book, we commented on the wonderful story and the beautiful illustrations. I loved the soft, peaceful colors throughout.

I think we all want to ingrain that message of our unending and unconditional love for our children. More importantly, we want them to have a vision of the incredible love of Father God who is always there for us even in the hard times. He's the same God who is preparing a unimaginably perfect place for us in Heaven.

I'm at the end of parenting children. Now I parent young adults. Someday I hope to be privileged to help grandchildren know the unconditional love and acceptance of the Father, too.

Perhaps you've got little ones in your life whom you'd like to reassure. I highly recommend this book. My husband gave this ten stars out of five. ~smile~ When I asked my daughter, she said it's definitely a keeper. So it has a place in our life now.  Why not enjoy it with your littles or grandlittles? I think you'll be glad you did.

Blessings to you and yours,

  1. Max Lucado has always been a favorite.
Your story about your daughter made me smile. My daddy used to always read me The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. My last year at home, age 18, he didn't mention it. I asked, and he said he figured I was too old. NOPE. I sat at his feet while he read to me. That is one of my favorite Christmas memories of me and my Daddy. Your daughter will never forget these days!

    1. Oh Cheryl, how wonderful! We still read our Advent book together each year on Christmas Eve. We used to read it every night of December when the kids were younger.
Thanks for writing to me. I notice that I don't have your email. If you see this reply, will you send it to me, please?
