Enter Into Easter with PURE FLIX EASTER ~ GIVEAWAY ENDS 4/7 US ONLY

Easter is just around the corner and Pure Flix is ready to help you prepare and enjoy the Easter season. They have films for kids and adults, for Christians and for the curious, for Bible scholars and for life long learners. They have documentaries and entertaining movies, Bible studies and devotionals, cartoons and LEGO Brick animations of Bible stories. There really is something for everyone at Pure Flix.

This week I watched a documentary in preparation for Easter. It is called The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. Years ago, one of my teens read the book, but I never took time to read it. When I signed up with Pure Flix, it was one of the first programs I wanted to watch. I knew that Strobel was an atheist journalist who decided to investigate the death and resurrection of Christ. He wanted to disprove it, but he ended up making an excellent Case for Christ. I highly recommend it. Viewing this documentary increased my confidence in the truth of the resurrection and in the accuracy of scripture. My heart and my thoughts are turned to just what Jesus did for me as Easter approaches.

I've also started watching the series The Chosen. This is the series that many have been talking about in my circles as well as online. Wow! I've only watched a couple of episodes so far, but it's excellent. The sets, the characters, the acting, the cinematography, the writing are all absolutely superior. I look forward to many more episodes.

For kids there are a lot of choices. I thought the Brickfilms looked interesting. They have one of The Passion, too. Of course there are Veggie Tales and a wide variety of offerings including some selections in Spanish. A good children's film about Easter gives you a perfect jumping off point to talk with your children or teens about the true meaning of Easter or, as I call it, Resurrection Day. It sure isn't a bunny!

There are also many feature films about the life of Christ, his death, and resurrection. Each has its own way of adding to our understanding of the time and of what really happened. Here are just a few:

I'm going to carve out some time in the next few weeks to enjoy some documentaries as well. Knowing more about the culture of the middle east in his day, especially that of the Jews, can really enlighten one's understanding.
