Happy Independence Day!
We are a blessed nation still.
2 Chronicles 7:14 gives the solution to this nation's troubles.
It all depends on us.
"If my people, which are called by my name,
(Christians)
shall humble themselves,
("having or showing a modest or low estimate of one's own importance")
and pray,
(just talking to God)
and seek my face,
(worship, Bible reading, prayer, praise, quiet listening)
and turn from their wicked ways;
(What are you watching on t.v. or movies? What are you reading? Is it wholesome? Are you seeking a clean pure heart? Kind to others, even those in your home? Honest? There are all kinds of sins that some Christians overlook. We need to really seek the Lord and ask him to reveal those to us. We need to repent! We need to be different than the average American.)
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land."
Let's do our part!
Thank you God!

The state of things right now troubles me. But you are so right if we look at ourselves sometimes we don't even realize all the little things add up to the big things. Warm Blessings!~♥ Amy
ReplyDeleteThank you Laura for a lovely post. I often forget to just turn it over to God... I bet he often says (not that I would ever presume to know what He thinks, mind you) "Linda, my daughter, I am patient...I already know your troubles, when will you learn my daughter, to trust me?"
ReplyDeleteSad to say, Laura, I do often forget...just keeping it real. Blessings
Hello there! I hope you had a wonderful 4th! We sure did. Stayed home, did some tree cutting, had a wonderful bbq and watched the boys put on a beautiful display of fireworks. God is so good! Love your post and its a wonderful reminder for the season we are in.... we need to put God back into our country!! Hugs to you, Amy
ReplyDeleteAs usual, Laura, I am a day late and a dollar short! Yesterday just did not have the time.
ReplyDeleteThe sermon this AM was taken from this text. This seems to be on a great many Christian hearts lately. God is reminding us that WE are the Salt of the earth and without us, the savor will be gone. This is not a them or us situation. We have been reminded that we are His people and we need to keep up our end.
I am so sorry that we are divided by denominations, I would put my arm around each beleiver and tell them that we are related by the blood of Christ and belong together. The Church is not a building, but His Bride. Let us kneel together and bow before our God, repent our sins, and ask; He will pour out blessings on this people and this nation.
Thank you for this post and God bless you.
Such an edifying post, dear friend. YES, it is US...we are God's people...who need to humble ourselves and pray and snap out of our complacency and apathy. Our passivity and sins are what landed us in the place we are in. God help us to realize this and repent and let go of sin in our lives and allow Him to send the healing our nation so desperately needs. Thank you for sharing what God placed upon your heart. :)
ReplyDeletethank you for your lovely post this weekend, Laura.
ReplyDeleteWhile I am ever so grateful for the freedoms and liberties we do have in this country, my hope and peace lies in the fact that I'm a citizen of God's Kingdom - looking forward to eternity in heaven with Him!
You are so right, Linda!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, complacency and apathy and passivity are just the words I needed!
Hi Amy,
It was good. My husband and I worked but got off about 3:30. It was a relaxing evening.
Right you are Linda!
