My Daybook ~ February 14, 2017

______________________________

For Today

Looking out my window
It's dark!

I am thinking
of how I'd like to spruce things up for spring around here. I saw Mrs. Olson's basement kitchen and loved the red and white. The bead board would definitely look nice in my kitchen.

I am thankful
that I have a safe place to live with my family.

One of my favorite things
coconut meringue pie. I baked a couple this morning for Valentine's Day. One for us and one for a special order.

I am creating
an apron using an old tattered apron for a pattern.

I am wearing
a denim skirt, black shoes, purple and navy top.

I am reading

I am hoping
for SNOW!

I am learning
about marriage in The Art of Marriage class at church.

In my kitchen
it's quiet after a morning of baking pies and supper of leftover chili and corn chips.

A moment from my week
Lowell and I won the candy unwrapping contest with mittens on!

Have a wonderful week. Remember, you are loved with an everlasting love by the creator of the universe, Father God, Jesus His Son, and Holy Spirit. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

  2. Is snow in the forecast? I have not been watching the news, sometimes you and I have the same weather. We had rain all night and most of the day today.
I am such a candy fan, I'd probably do good at your party game, no matter what handicap they gave me 😂
    Your pies are beautiful

  4. Isn't Jann's red and white kitchen wonderful!

And congrats on your big win. Unwrapping candy can be hard with bare hands!

    1. I adore the red and white. I have a lot of mismatched white dishes that I've collected over the years. When my kids were young, I started collecting them since they were always breaking dishes. This way I always have an eclectic matched set. ~smile~
      Be blessed!

    1. If I don't get some snow soon, I'm gonna start calling myself a southerner! I do live in southern Missouri. It's over 70 today!
So, we're both complaining. Kind of like the curly hair or straight hair issue, we always want the opposite!
      Blessings,

  7. Oh my, those pies! They look wonderful. The kitchen you shared in cute. I love beadboard. Did you know that you can order textured wallpaper with a beadboard pattern from Home Depot? That is what I used to give my kitchen cabinets the beadboard look.

Have a great day and I will email you soon about homeschooling. :)

  8. If you don't mind, I'll do a mini daybook post!

**I am hoping....for rain! We need it. We had to take the hoses out and water the trees last weekend.

**I am thinking...about which projects to work on when I go down to my craft room this afternoon. I might make some cards.

**I am reading...a book called Finding Happiness by Matthew Kelly. I think that's the name and author. It's very good.

    1. I think we're okay as far as rain. We haven't had much, but things don't look bad. Unfortunately, I'm seeing buds on trees and daffodils sprouting from the ground. I still want some winter. Two years in a row is disappointing. But, I'll seize the seventy degrees and enjoy it while praying for some white stuff. ~smile~
      Bless you Debby,

It's so good to meet you. I'll be over for a visit in just a bit. I just ate a piece of that pie for breakfast! Don't tell the kids. ~wink~

  12. Oh Laura, you are such a sweetie! I'm glad that my kitchen has inspired you. Your pie looks delicious! Coconut Cream is one of my favorite pies, but I have never tried it with meringue. I bet it's yummy as well. We have had gorgeous weather, but suppose to get a little more snow next week. Some areas have had terrible flooding, which is not good! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann

    1. Oh Jann, it's always something with the weather, isn't it? It seems to me that you have a lot of extremes where you live. It's Colorado, right?

Father God, I pray for your intervention to save lives and property. I pray that people will turn to you for help and find that you are the God of more than enough. I ask it all in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Thanks so much for dropping in to say hello. If you ever get to Southwest Missouri, I'll make you one of those pies, don't let me forget!

      Hugs,
      Laura
