Trust and Destruction

I lie down on the radiation table
and look at a machine
that can destroy cancer cells
or destroy my life.

I close my eyes
and pray
and worship
the God who gave me life
and is a shield protecting me.

It is a choice that I must make...

every morning
Monday through Friday
at 9:30 in the morning.

I make the choice to trust daily,
but it didn't start there.

It started weeks ago
when I chose to trust God for radiation.

It started months ago
when I chose to trust God for chemotherapy.

It started nearly a year ago
in April when I found the lump
and chose to trust
God with my future.

It started years ago
when I chose to trust God
with my eternity and my salvation.

Thank you God for giving me peace
and banishing fear.

Make your choices now...
before the crisis...
or in the crisis...
but choose now whom
you will trust and serve.

I will trust and serve the
LORD GOD ALMIGHTY
creator of the universe
who is awesome and loving
and who gave his life for me.

~~~~~
I am trusting
that the right things
will be destroyed
and trusting
in God's protection
for He is a shield to me.
~~~~~

I am entering my last two weeks of radiation.
I am feeling the effects.
I need rest.
I will probably not write much for awhile.
Thank you for your prayers
and your notes.
God keep you all.

    You have chosen wisely over these last months, but most importantly, you have chosen Christ as your personal Savior.
    May God give you rest in these days ahead as you look to Him.
    Continuing to pray for you.

  12. May love and prayers surround you throughout these next two weeks and beyond. I wanted to share a scripture verse with you from The Book of Mormon: "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation." Rest up, Laura, and take care.

  14. Laura, I was reading this last night and I remembered you. God bless you!

    “But if I were you, I would appeal to God;
    I would lay my cause before him.
    9
    He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed,
    miracles that cannot be counted.
    10
    He provides rain for the earth;
    he sends water on the countryside.
    11
    The lowly he sets on high,
    and those who mourn are lifted to safety.
    12
    He thwarts the plans of the crafty,
    so that their hands achieve no success.
    13
    He catches the wise in their craftiness,
    and the schemes of the wily are swept away.
    14
    Darkness comes upon them in the daytime;
    at noon they grope as in the night.
    15
    He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth;
    he saves them from the clutches of the powerful.
    16
    So the poor have hope,
    and injustice shuts its mouth.

    17
    “Blessed is the one whom God corrects;
    so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.[a]
    18
    For he wounds, but he also binds up;
    he injures, but his hands also heal.
    19
    From six calamities he will rescue you;
    in seven no harm will touch you.
    20
    In famine he will deliver you from death,
    and in battle from the stroke of the sword.
    21
    You will be protected from the lash of the tongue,
    and need not fear when destruction comes.
    22
    You will laugh at destruction and famine,
    and need not fear the wild animals.
    23
    For you will have a covenant with the stones of the field,
    and the wild animals will be at peace with you.
    24
    You will know that your tent is secure;
    you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.
    25
    You will know that your children will be many,
    and your descendants like the grass of the earth.
    26
    You will come to the grave in full vigor,
    like sheaves gathered in season.

    27
    “We have examined this, and it is true.
    So hear it and apply it to yourself.”

    Job chapter 5

  20. What an amazing arsenal of scripture you have listed here Laura! As I think of you facing that cold radiation machine, I look at each scripture you listed, and believe that the Lord is greater than the fear that it brings. Your hope and trust in the Lord is a sure foundation, and you are being lifted up in prayer and the Lord is with you! What an incredible testament to the power of our Mighty Lord! Looking forward to a miraculous report for complete remission in Jesus name! Hugs to you today dear friend!
