A cold winter's night at home...
I'm just getting ready to make a pot of cocoa, put on my jammies, and read The Life Giving Home.
What do you like to do on a cold winter's night?

...doing what I can with what I've got where I am
on a short shoestring budget!

The books sounds excellent and so does your plan! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds nice and cozy to me😃
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,I follow your blog....live on a farm in Indiana...lots of animals and gardens. I often read in the evenings, or sew or knit. I enjoy reading of your life and invite you to stop in and visit ours at Windermere Farm, Shelbyville In on FB. Take care, Trudy Neill
ReplyDeleteWe batten down the hatches here, as Storm Imogen has hit S W England. Stay inside, put the heating on and enjoy a lovely hot drink together.
ReplyDeleteI started reading that book this weekend. I am not far yet, but am loving it so far. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLovely...
ReplyDeleteI love cozy nights like that.
I enjoy putting my jammies on early, curling up on the sofa with a throw blanket and a latte with whipped cream. : )
You and I are kindred spirits because I would do the same!!!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I like to make cocoa for the children and me. Although, this year has been so light on snow.....I miss it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy Sally's new book. I've been wanting to order it, but it isn't in the budget at this time.
Have a wonderful evening,
By Grace Alone,
Kim
Laura, that book looks simply gorgeous. Mimi xxx
ReplyDeleteThat's one thing I love about winter...you can put your jammies on really early! I like your plan too. I love to catch up on thing on a cold winter night, a good magazine, letter writing, embroidery work or a good movie with a cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy and keep warm.
I've been hearing a lot of good things about this book. I think I might need to go buy it.
ReplyDeleteSome nights, I like to craft, catch up on blogs, color, on occasion read or I curl up and watch a movie. Perfect nights! ☺
I hope you are doing well, Laura.
Hugs, Amy
Hugs to you, too Amy. Tonight I'm updating some Ebay listings, answering emails, checking facebook, and I just might fit in a little reading right before bed.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Laura
Thanks Jes. I also mixed liquid hand soap for my dispenser last night. Tuesday I plan to make laundry soap.

I was fortunate to receive the book for review, Kim. Maybe your library will order it if you ask?
Enjoy your winter evenings!

Sounds like a wonderful plan, Laura! Silence and warmth...such a soothing combination! God bless you, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you, too, Cheryl.
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI too love a cup of hot chocolate [add a few marshmellos, if I have them?]..A good book , or a little sewing/crafting..
Hope you have a wonderful week.
Oh my word, is your hubs' name really LOWELL? SO IS MINE! Too odd of a name to be two bloggers' husband's name. LOL. (Get it? LOL!!!)
ReplyDeleteI like your blog, BTW! xo
I really like the quote you shared in the picture, Laura. It sounds like a book I would enjoy. Currently, putting a shovelful of coal on the fire and eating a bowl of soup is how I am spending my winter evening :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved the quote you posted by Sally Clarkson! So very true.
ReplyDeleteYour favorite cold winter night routine sounds wonderfully cozy!
Thanks for sharing. :-)
So many of my friends have posted about this book! I've got to get a hold of it! I hope you'll do a review when you're done. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts on it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Sarah
I will Mrs. Sarah. Look for it in a few weeks.

Laura
Ah, Karen, if only it were a routine. I'd love to spend every evening like that.
