Welcome to another thrifty week at Harvest Lane Cottage. I am glad you've found me! Each week I share my thrifty and frugal projects, ways of saving money, and my blessings from God.
I am so glad you dropped in for a visit today—or tonight!
♥♥♥
Hey Y'all!
Thanksgiving is a sweet memory now. It was a beautiful day here in Missouri with my husband and my children. We've lost many of our leaves, but we have one brilliant gold tree just outside the window. In fact, you can see it from both our dining and living room windows. It's just glorious and makes me thankful. I love Autumn colors, and I think God had that tree planted just for me. He does that kind of thing for his girls... you do know that right?
Remember the last line of last week's thrifty post? "I can't wait to see what God's got in store!" Well it was over the top amazing!

Here's my thrifty week:
~ I invested in another cubic foot of real estate. We took a box to the DAV. It's next door to the Red Racks thrift store where I bought my coat last week.
~ I earned more Swagbucks that I'm saving up to buy some nifty gift cards for my girls. I need only a few more to able to get both cards I want. Gotta keep Mrs. Kringle's secrets, you know? You can still sign up and earn gift cards from places like Starbucks, Amazon, PayPal, Bath and Body, Bass Pro, Olive Garden, Kohls, and Home Depot. There are lots of choices in various denominations. Maybe you'll find something for you. ~smile~
I once got a Starbucks card just for me. I used it for hot tea, and it lasted me a long time. It was so nice to know I could spoil myself just a bit without blowing the budget. Please check it out using by clicking to learn and earn more. (Yep, it's a link that will help me earn more SB too. It doesn't cost you a penny.)
~ A friend's husband brought a box of food for our Thanksgiving dinner plus a little extra. Wow! I didn't even have my turkey yet. What a big blessing! Thank you friends!
~ A friend arranged for a new-to-us refrigerator to be delivered on Monday! Wow! Praise God! We'd been limping along for several months with one that wasn't keeping things as cold as they needed to be. In fact, in the summer, we kept anything that had to be cold in the freezer—and it didn't freeze! There are not words for how much I appreciate this. Thank you Jesus! Thank you my friend!
~ Are you sitting down? You know how I have to drive my daughter to school in the next town? Some friends at church gave us a car! Emily will be able to look for a job now that she has transportation. Praise to God the Father and Jesus His Son!
I had no idea what a week it was going to be. God is full of surprises! And all I was thinking about was how to get a turkey in time to thaw it for Thanksgiving. God is definitely all about the BIG picture. I'm so glad He enjoys doing exceedingly abundantly above all we can think or ask. Sometimes He makes me feel like one of His spoiled kids. ~smile~
I was especially encouraged by all this, because I find that my Christmas budget is going to be very small this year. I am going to rely on creativity, the money in my PayPal accounts that I've made from selling thing on Etsy and Ebay, and the check I made for working as a poll judge a couple weeks ago. I know God will show me how to make it stretch. He always does.
If you're interested, I'll be adding more to my Etsy and Ebay shops this week.

ReplyDeleteBTW the Book suggestion linky runs through Sunday night if you want to link more suggestions!
Have a good weekend.
That's why I share the miraculous provisions of the Lord. He really does take care of his kids if we will trust him.
DeleteI'll pop over and list a few more books.
Blessings,
Laura
Oh, praise the dear Lord!!!!!!! Oh, GOD is so good! I am SOOOOO happy for you, my dear friend. I LOVE Ephesians 3:20...it is my life verse, these days, it seems. Rejoicing with you and praising God!!
ReplyDeleteHE IS AWESOME!
DeleteThank you for rejoicing and praising with me!
I believe He will make a way for me to get a stove that's not broken. I was able to make Thanksgiving on this one, and it didn't come apart, though it's getting a bit worse. So far, so good.
God will provide!
Hugs,
Laura
So happy to read about all your blessings ❤️

So proud you had such a nice Thanksgiving.. and How wonderful for all the blessings that Our Lord gave your family.. He is awesome, and yes he does give us special blessings. [At my other house, there was a beautiful golden maple..I loved it.. It got a disease, and was hollow in the center.. I told hubby to go ahead and cut it down , because I knew it was going to die.. He said, wait and see!! God can do all things.. Well.. He can and He did.. I watched its beauty for many a year.. and felt so special each year, when those golden leaves came upon it.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your Christmas post..
Pie looks delicious..
Hugs to you Judy. Wish we could meet in person. You really are a wonderful blog friend.
DeleteWooT! Laura, this was truly a blessing and a pleasure for me to read! We were gifted a car once way before we moved up here during hard times and it was the best running Honda and with the miles my husband has to drive to work, it was the best on gas and truly an amazing gift. It was a stick, so I couldn't drive it but we still had what we liked to call, "our beater with a heater" that got me around local and it was nice to get the discount for two cars on insurance.
ReplyDeleteThe SB and other offers are truly awesome! AND the refrigerator!! I am so exceedingly happy for you!!! It's so true, you can't out-give Our Lord, Jesus --and as His birthday approaches, He gives *us* gifts!! Isn't that just like Him?
I'm glad Thanksgiving 2016 will be so very memorable for you in a great way, and the best part is, you deserve it, Laura!! Enjoy!
Thank you Sharon! You are just so sweet. Enjoy your Christmas season dearie.
DeleteHow awesome your week ended up being! It sounds like you have really great friends who love to help you out.
ReplyDeleteSo very happy to read this! Thankful unexpected blessings came your way!
ReplyDeleteHoping to hear how you get your new stove, soon! :)
Hoping the coming week is just as wonderful for you!
God is a miracle worker Annie. He'll provide when we truly need it. In the meantime, "all things are held together in Christ Jesus."
DeleteHugs,
Laura
Oh Laura, my heart just swelled up with gratitude for all the wonderful and HUGE blessings that your family experienced. :) God is sooooo good!
ReplyDeleteHe is Debbie! He is!
DeleteThank you!
Laura
How Awesome! He is great indeed. And I know the huge things like a meal and a car!!! are fabulous beyond words, but how very nice that you were able to treat yourself to tea. Those little things at the right time often mean as much as bigger things (well, sorta.) I hope that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
It does to me Lady Locust! I'll be over for a visit in a few minutes.
DeleteHappy Christmas season!
Laura
A car and a fridge and food all in one week? I'd be giddy with happiness/relief! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteIt was incredible! I never would have expected any of it!
DeleteGod is good! So happy to read the blessings you have received. He definitely provides for his children! :)
ReplyDelete28 days till Christmas, in case you were wondering! :) Let the decorating begin!
Enjoy your week my friend!
Hugs!
I've got some more cleaning to do first. The fall decor is put away except for one hanging on the wall that I just remembered.
DeleteI think Friday night will be our tree decorating night.
Hugs to you Amy!
Laura
That last picture is just precious! And did you make your apron? So cute, my friend :)
ReplyDeleteAnd did I mention that your pie looks amazing! Yum.
Have a wonderful week. Hugs to you!
Yes, Stephanie, I did make the apron. It was one of those projects that I started then got distracted and set aside. I'm ashamed to say it took several years from the time my family bought me the jelly roll and pattern until I actually finished it.
DeleteI still cannot seem to find sewing time.
Thank you, the pie was delicious. Pecan is one of my favorites. I'm thinking of trying to make a vinegar pie. Have you tried one?
Blessings!
Laura

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, it was my pleasure. I am honored.
