Out of Place? A Challenge

My daughter, Amy, challenged me this morning. She put this photo on my blog and said, "That's inspiring." I think she was teasing me. ~smile~  So, I'm taking up the challenge! Ha! There Amy!

Amy blogs at Living in Faith and Fun. I asked her about the photo. She said that she took it in our yard. It immediately reminded me of Amy's Verse of the Week. Do take a look at what she has to say.

The KJV reads, "Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world...."

Murmurings, disputings, grumbling, complaining, arguing, all words that are used in these verses in various versions.  All yucky. All pervasive.  All very hard to stop once they're started.

I'm guilty. I bet you are, too.  I think the antidote is found in Philippians 4:8.

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

TRUE
HONEST
JUST
PURE
LOVELY
OF GOOD REPORT
VIRTUE
PRAISE

THINK ON THESE THINGS

Are You in a Tough Spot?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths."
Proverbs 3:5-6

"Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors."
Matthew 6:11-12

"And my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:19

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Romans 15:13

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things."
Philippians 4:6-8

Are you in a tough spot? Bills due? Too much month left when your paycheck's gone? Feeling fearful? Blessed are those who put their hope in the Lord. Take your worries to God. He hears your prayers. Jesus understands your needs.  Have faith and seek God. He will bring you through and will supply your needs. Hope in the Lord. Trust in the Lord. Be in a Bible teaching church Sunday.

Blessings,
Laura

My Daybook... February 16, 2015

Outside my window... Snow! Finally!

I am thinking...
I am so thrilled to have the snow. My younger son says it's all my fault because of my prayers. ~grin~ No comment.

I am thankful...
We have a home with both propane radiators and wood heat... just in case the power goes out.

In the kitchen...
Chicken soup from leftover rotisserie chicken and a few odd veggies I had in the fridge
Oatmeal Coconut Crispies cookies
Beans for chili

I am wearing...
Comfy clothes including my favorite sweatshirt with hearts sewn all over it

I am creating...
A mess in the kitchen! I'm cleaning up, too. ~smile~

I am going...
no place tonight. Every activity was cancelled.

I am wondering...
how we get so many clothes and towels dirty. ~grin~

I am reading...
Worry Less So You Can Live More. I just opened it today.

I am hoping...
that the snow will last a few days.

I am looking forward to...
the ladies' conference at our church next month.

I am learning...
um, uh, hmmm... nothing today. I hope my kids are learning though!

Around the house...
It's a bit of a mess. The girls' things are in the hallway and scattered, because my Lowell is painting their room this week. He's run out of paint. The first coat looks like white with a blue tint to me, but it's supposed to be white with a pink tint. I don't know much about paint but....

I am pondering...
How to get everything done.

A favorite quote for today...

"It may be put down as a positive rule, whether among the rich or the poor, whether in a palace or in a cottage, that the wife who would be happy, and make her home happy and permanently beautiful, must work with her hands at the housewifely tasks which the days in turn bring to her."
Homemaking by Rev. J.R. Miller, D.D.

One of my favorite things...
Mozart's music

A few plans for the rest of the week...
Getting school back on track after a week in St. Louis visiting friends

A peek into my day...
Have a great week!
Laura
Happy with snow!
