I am thinking...
I am so thrilled to have the snow. My younger son says it's all my fault because of my prayers. ~grin~ No comment.

Around the house...
It's a bit of a mess. The girls' things are in the hallway and scattered, because my Lowell is painting their room this week. He's run out of paint. The first coat looks like white with a blue tint to me, but it's supposed to be white with a pink tint. I don't know much about paint but....

A favorite quote for today...
"It may be put down as a positive rule, whether among the rich or the poor, whether in a palace or in a cottage, that the wife who would be happy, and make her home happy and permanently beautiful, must work with her hands at the housewifely tasks which the days in turn bring to her."

Glad to see that your son realizes the power of Mama's prayers. :) So sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love your quote, Laura. It is filled with truth!
In Oklahoma we have just a bit of snow on top of a glaze of ice.mits not too bad but I stayed home all day anyway.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a true homemaking quote! We do have to work at it to keep a happy pretty home.
Glad you are happy you got snow! I am ready for ours to leave! That book sounds interesting, I am adding it to my list to read! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou've had yours longer than I have then Jodi! Smiles
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda, I'm in Southwest Missouri. We got about a quarter inch of ice then snow on top of it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laura
Thanks Dianna,
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Laura
It's good see someone else likes to read J.R. Miller--I have his Homemaking book. Good stuff! I looked at your homeschooling reasons--we thought the same! I was a former elementary teacher, but knew homeschooling would be the best education to offer our own children. We had our doubts at times, but we made it all the way through! May God continue to bless the training of your children.
ReplyDeleteEven now I sometimes have my doubts, Vickie, but I keep going. God hasn't told me to stop yet. ~smile~ I'll be over for a visit soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Laura
Lovely to hear about your day. Looks very cold where you are. Keep warm.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a cheerful blog, both in design and in content. I like the quote you shared from Rev. J.R. Miller. Like you, I love being a homemaker and am blessed to still be able to do it full-time even though my children are grown and on their own.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you in the snow!
Snow is pretty and I don't mind it if I can just stay home.....but here it tends to shut everything down as we aren't equipped to keep the roads clear...
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind, I want to follow your blog.... I liked the quote and copied in into a list I'm making of favorites.
Mama Bear
I hope your snow stays around for a few days so you can enjoy it. We have no snow in our part of our province and haven't had much this year at all. Kinda missing it as winter is my favorite season.
ReplyDeleteI think we're going to get a bit more Scrappy Quilter. Yay!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Laura
I'd love it if you follow Mama Bear! I've got a little book that I collect quotes in. It's an enjoyable pastime. I'll be over for a visit to your blog soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
Laura
I truly hope that I'm able to continue as well Barbara. I look forward to more time to pursue the creative side of homemaking. I'll pop in for a visit soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

It's been quite cold and snowy Jo. Thanks for talking back!

Yay for snow! I am a snow girl so I always love seeing the pretty white stuff :)
ReplyDeleteStay warm and safe, sweet Laura. Hugs!
It is winter. I am enjoying the little bit of snow we've gotten. Blessings to you Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice to see a bit of snow. We live on the coast of Spain and it never snows here but my MIL living an hour away is practically housebound with over a metre of snow.
ReplyDeletewe finally got snow also, although it looks pretty, I just don't like it too afraid of falling and don't care for this cold either
ReplyDeleteI understand Connie. My husband fell on the ice yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThat amazes me Sheryl. My father lives about 2 1/2 hours away from me and sees far more snow than I do during a winter.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!
I've never heard of that book. We had a touch of snow too this week. It seemed like a lot for us Southerners, but I'm sure those in the North East would laugh at what we call "snow."
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you're right about the snow Jenny. Thanks for talking back.
ReplyDeleteSounds like life Laura! lol! And don't we love it? Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
