Summer Reading List 2025 ~ Updated 7/8

 Hello everyone!
Here we are at the beginning of another summer!

Reading is a big part of my life. I do it every day. Every single day. If I can't sit down with a book, I always make time to listen while I'm driving or creating or working around the house. I thank God my momma read to me. I thank God my teachers read to me. They helped my imagination to grow and develop so that I see stories play out in my mind as I read or listen.

Please take time to read aloud to your children from very young to as old as they'll still listen. That might be older than you think. It's good for them, and it's good for you. I'll be reading to my little grandson as soon as I can get him to sit still for a couple of minutes! He's not quite two. ~smile~ There's a whole lot of world to explore, and he's busy at it.

Here's my summer reading list for 2025. I'll be honest, I always end up adding more to my lists. I'll update regularly with my progress.

BIBLE

Finish the Old Testament

with a YouVersion Bible.com reading plan.

I moved on to the New Testament!

Update 7- 21: I'm in 1 Corinthians now!

FICTION

Dead Sea Rising
Jerry B Jenkins
Dr. Craig Evans, Biblical Consultant

I finished this June 2nd.
Oh dear, there is a sequel. Shall I add it or not?

King of the Golden River
John Ruskin

I lost interest. I will not finish it.

It's about the assassination attempt while Kennedy was president elect.

    1. Hi Roxy!
That's exactly why I like to listen to Bible and audiobooks!
I've already considred changing my reading plan. I found out the first book has a sequel and another reader suggested an author I'd like to try!
      Blessings,
      Laura

  2. That list should keep you very busy over the Summer months.
I never realised that there were Enola Holmes books. I have watched the first two films and my husband just told me last night that there is a third. I have learnt something to tell him in return!
I have just read an old Margery Allingham 'Campion' book. I love detective stories set in the past and knew of her books, but had never read one before. It was very good and I will definitely pick up any more that I find in charity shops

    1. Hi Tracy! I hope you come back and see this. I didn't have your email address. ~smile~ I like to listen to books as I work, so some of these will be audiobooks. I've never heard of Margery Allingham. I'll look her up. I like detective stories, but I do not like anything explicit at all. I like the who done it part, not the crime part. Thanks so much for writing to me. I'm going to check with my library just in case I finish my list. ~wink~
      Blessings,
      Laura

Thanks for writing me back!

This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
