On This Lovely Day at The Cottage

On this lovely day.... It's raining buckets!

A little Bible...  I'm reading and listening through the book of Acts.  I keep track of where I'm at with the chronological reading plan checklist on You Version.  I'm ahead of schedule.

A little running...  I've got to run into town to the thrift shop. Amy needs a top to go with her Molly Pitcher costume for the co-op program tomorrow evening. Vacuuming the van, filling water bottles, Aldi and Walmart. All short trips, but they add up.

A little cooking...  chicken and dumplings

A little reading...  I'm reading American Patriots by Rick Santorum.

A little teaching time... Helping my daughter with whatever she needs.

A little computer time...  E-mail, surveys, linking a few posts to blog parties, reading a few blogs, and a little writing.

A lot of sewing... I sewed a skirt for my Amy and mended a pair of slacks and a pair of jeans.

A lot of meetings... one for my husband and one for two of my three children.

A few minutes of relaxation, no doubt with a book, then a little sleeping.

    1. After consulting with my Amy, I'm going to use the whole chicken in the fridge and make chicken and dumplings instead.
      Enjoy your dinner!

  4. Raining buckets, oh my! We are supposed to get rain today and tomorrow, yay! Enjoy!

Chicken salad sounds yummy! I need to make that soon! Perfect season for something cold and something simple. ;)

I've been running like crazy here, appointments here, appointments there. I need a break! Today I am home and catching up on dome chores, schooling and rest. I think I need a nap!

    Enjoy your day my friend!

    Hugs, Amy

  5. We had lots of rain too, but it's supposed to be nice by the weekend (Happy Earth Day, Saturday!)
This morning there was a robin tangled in some found string in our apple tree. I saw her struggling while gazing out the window, while doing the dishes. My husband was going to just cut the line, but so much of it was around his foot, that he thought he would get re-tangled again. So we got a towel and grabbed a hold of her and unwrapped the tangled mess and off she flew! Yay!! I was so happy she was okay!

    1. Oh, I'm so glad you two were able to help the robin. They are such a joy, aren't they?
      Happy weekend Sharon!

  6. YOu had me with that picture of the buckets! It instantly brought back memories of the big galvanized washtub that I used to play in as a child since we did not have money for a little child's swimming pool. The goats and I would spend a lot of time playing in it. :)

  7. I've seen a some bright yellow birds a couple times in the last couple of days. I need to see if I can find a name for them. The sun is just beginning to peek out. Be blessed! Hug, Laura

  8. The weather here is ugly...the shine hasn't been out at all--raining off and on (not complaining). I hope you got everything done and found a top for your daughter. smiles (p.s. how is Emily doing? The end of the semester is soon, isn't it?)

    1. It's turning nice this afternoon. Found the top. Supper's cooking. I have to put away laundry I just folded and set the table. Emily's making it. Math is still hard, and she hasn't liked any of her classes, so she's looking forward to the end.
