Holy Spirit is Amazing!

Hello friends,

As most of you know, I'm battling breast cancer. Right now I'm in chemotherapy. I pray regularly for God to protect my organs and body. I then name off every organ and system and tissue I can think of and ask God to protect them.

One of the organs that keeps coming to my mind when I'm praying like this is to pray for my spleen. So I pray for it regularly—almost to the point it feels silly.

Well this is chemo day. I was praying this morning with Lowell and Amy. Right in the middle of the prayer for my spleen, I said, "What is a spleen anyway?" Lowell looked it up on his phone, and look at this!

"The spleen is the organ that is responsible for both the storage and purification of red blood cells. It is positioned in the left upper abdomen, and is the largest organ of the lymphatic system.
The spleen serves a critical role in immune function because it purifies the blood and helps the immune system to recognize and attack foreign pathogens and allergens.
The spleen is composed of the red pulp and white pulp. The white pulp produces and grows immune cells as well as blood cells. On the other hand, the red pulp is responsible for purifying the blood and removing dead or old blood cells."

Holy Spirit has been prompting me to pray for this very important organ!

Is God great or what? They found cancer in one of my lymph nodes as well as in my ducts. I'm taking an extra drug to help my bones make the kinds of blood cells I need to fight infection. I read the first paragraph and started crying. Holy Spirit does indeed prompt us to pray. Thank you Jesus!

Just had to share with someone who would "get it"!

I share it with you, because you all have been so faithful to pray, to encourage me, to send me hugs, and just make me feel loved.

Thank you!

God is on the throne. God is healing me. Praise God!

    1. It's good to hear from you dearie. I've not been doing much visiting. It seems to take most of my blog time to write and respond. You are welcome to share any post you'd like. I'll try to get by sometime soon, but I'll probably be resting a lot for the next few days. Thanks for praying, for understanding, and for the hug. I'm sending a hug back to you!

  5. Laura, THANK YOU for sharing your experience with the Holy Spirit. It truly is an amazing revelation when you realize it! I find myself being more observant of all the signs and signals the Good Lord is trying to get me to see. Little things I usually take for granted. Sometimes it takes the Holy Spirit to stir your heart and soul before you actually see with your eyes. You are absolutely beautiful, inside and out! A gentle hug and a Mighty Prayer sent your way. Also keeping Lowell in prayer. You mentioned a knee issue a bit ago. Hold tight to your faith and lean heavy on the Lord.

    1. You're welcome Karla. It just blew me away. Holy Spirit is showing me some things inside me that I have repented of and asked for his help to change as well. Everything changes when you think of him as a he instead of an it.
You've got to be one of the best cheerleaders ever!
Lowell sends his thanks. He had a shot of cortisone that has helped, but he will need surgery eventually. I think he would rather see me through my health crisis first if you can. I am holding tight and must lean heavy of my Jesus.

      Hugs.

  9. I will agree with you in prayer for your spleen. I have nieces and nephews that had to have their spleens removed because of a liver disease they inherited from their mother. So I know the importance of that spleen. It is very important to your health. Love you Laura.

I am praying for you too Laura, that the chemo does not adversely affect any organs or tissues of your body, in Jesus name! Believing with you and claiming His promise of healing! I love the picture of you, such a beautiful smile you have, and you radiate the beautiful presence of the Holy Spirit! May God's best blessings be with you :)

    1. Oh Judy more than you know. My friend just wrote to me. Her husband is on chemo. His spleen recently enlarged so much that the doctor feared it would rupture. It is back to normal now. She told me that Holy Spirit told me the right thing to pray. Praying in the Holy Spirit is so helpful.
Thanks for adding my spleen, which I thought was tiny, but is really rather large, to your prayers for me.

      Hugs to you!

  32. Laura, God certainly does know to prompt us to pray for what we need. I was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago. They caught it in my mammogram. I am so thankful that the Dr. did not send me on my way after the ultrasound. He said he just about did, but there was one area that was, 'mildly suspicious'. The last two years they have called me back for a 2nd mammogram, but then said everything was fie. I am a stage 2, which is very curable. If they had found it last year I would probably have been a stage 1. Not good news to find out that you have cancer, but glad it was caught early. I go see the Oncologist tomorrow. I have not shared it on my blog yet. Waiting until I know more about what my treatment will be. I continue to pray for you!! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
    Jann

    1. Oh Jann,
This is a sisterhood I would never ever want to welcome you to. I caught my breath when I read your diagnosis. Honey I am so very sorry you must go through this, but go through it you will. You will come out of this victorious.
I don't blame you about waiting on the blog. I waited nearly a month. I just couldn't face it yet. Nor could I face talking to folks about it yet.
I praise God that they found it at stage 2. You WILL be cured! I plead the blood of Jesus over you right now for healing! I'm stage 3. It got in my lymph node. I plead the blood of Jesus over me for healing! God is not bound by stages. YOU are in the HEALING STAGE!
Girl dig in to the Word of God and find verses about healing and start confessing them over yourself. Remember, Jesus healed everyone that came to him and asked—everyone! Healing is the children's bread.
I'm sending you a great big hug!!! I will pray for you.

Father God, I thank you that Jann's enemy cancer has been found out. I thank you God that big C Christ is Lord over little c cancer. Cancer must die the death and be eliminated from Jann's body. I pray for health, strength, stamina, and hope to reign in Jann's body. Lord please protect every good cell, her heart, her brain, her lungs, her intestines, her skin, her spleen, her pancreas, her stomach, her esophagus, her lymph system, her blood, her spine, her bones her every good cell in every part of her body. I ask it by the power of the blood of Jesus and in the Name of Jesus Christ. THANK YOU GOD FOR THE VICTORY! Amen.

Love to you Jann. You will be blessed. God is holding you close. I invite you to look back at the weapons of my warfare in my Diagnosis post. I just looked and realized I need to step up my warfare.

Dig into the Bible. Find your personal scriptures. Find one that you can say regularly aloud in confession. I tell nearly everyone that I will live and not die and declare the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Psalm 118.

God bless you. Please email me or call me if you want to talk. I'll be happy to talk to you.
