Surgery is Behind Me Now ~ An Update
Hi,
I had my surgery on Friday, October 20th. The surgeons said that my surgeries went well. I'm still in pain and have limited mobility with my arms. I feel as good as my pain meds tell me I feel at any point in time. ~smile~ They make me groggy, too, but I'm thankful for them.
~ Thank you so much to all of you who are praying for me and for my family.
~Thank you to those who have shown us love in a tangible way such as bringing meals, cleaning, doing laundry, sending food gift cards, or giving my kids rides have truly blessed us in a practical way, too. It's so hard not to be able to take care of my family and home the way I want to.
There's nothing like the body of Christ taking care of each other.
Hugs to you all!
Laura

God hears and answers our prayers but usually the tangible things are done by the people who listen to the still small voice and answer his call in your behalf.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are doing well and that you have some help! Continuing to pray for you!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are feeling somewhat better, it will take time, smiles. I had a mammogram ultrasound done a few weeks ago...I'm not very happy about the lack of "manners" that the nurses/techicians displayed...since I have had a double mastectomy, of course I have severe scar tissue. They refused to allow me to get dress and leave until they spoke to the dr. as they wanted to do a biopsy right away. No biopsy and I see him tomorrow for my pre op anyways, and he will get a talking too. wink
ReplyDeleteTake it easy Laura and accept all the help, smiles.
Laura, it is good to hear you are home. Continued prayers for healing and comfort.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are home and recovering. Sending hugs and prayers to you from Texas. God bless! :-)
ReplyDeleteI know it is hard to accept help from others - but please know it gives them comfort in knowing they can help. And God enlists His angels on the earth to get things done at times.
ReplyDeleteWho are we to take away comfort for someone else or turn down God's helpers?
Continued prayers for complete recovery!
Thanks fo the update. Glad to “hear” the pep in your “voice!” :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you are doing so well and so thankful for those helping you all! Loving huggles.
ReplyDeleteGood healing to you. I am so glad to know, Laura, that you belong to a caring church family. It makes so much difference. John 13:35 "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another,” said Jesus. I've always been impressed with this verse. Thank you, whoever is reading this, that has been a support to my long-distance blog friend, Laura and her family.

I'm just seeing your update. (I've been out of town for a few days) But I've been thinking of you! So glad to hear the surgery is behind you. I pray your recovery will be quick and that you are feeling better each day! I recently had my yearly mammogram and got called back (once again) for a followup ultrasound. I layed there with tears in my eyes, thinking of you the whole time. Lots of love your way!!
ReplyDeleteLaura, how thankful I am to hear that family and friends have come by to bless and help you through this difficult time! Having had two surgeries myself this month, and not being able to use my hands for much at all, has made me very dependent on family and friends for help, and we have been so blessed that I haven't had to cook for almost 3 weeks now! I just praise the Lord for that and for hearing that you are doing so well, and being cared for so lovingly by friends and family! I will continue to hold you up in prayer, and pray that the Lord continues to help you heal well and that your recovery is speedy, and that the cancer is banished from your body! Love and many hugs to you dear friend!
