Six Benefits of Blogging

6 Things to Love About Blogging
Harvest Lane Cottage

I've been feeling a bit reflective lately. Some thoughts about blogging:

I love the creative freedom to write without the approval of a few elite publishers.

Making new friends surely would top the list as well.

The ability to reach readers around the world still bloggles boggles my mind.

I can encourage others through sharing my own trials, struggles, blessings, and thrifty ideas.

I can share the hope that I find in JESUS even when life seems too hard.

Encouraging others builds me up as well.

Writing my thrifty week posts and  bucket lists really help me keep doing.

Truthfully, there are so many things I love about it, it's hard to choose! Sharing my faith and encouragement with others is my passion.

  1. Amen, Laura! Blogging comes with a lot of freedoms and perks that we wouldn't have with a publisher for sure! I've been trying to get mine going again, but live distracted, so it's hard...BUT...I keep plugging even if it isn't perfect and I don't get as many posts out in a week as I'd like. I've not done a thrifty post or a bucket list in a long time. I need to get on it! Thanks for always cheering me on. I love and miss you, my friend! <3

    1. Dear Rebecca,  It's the same for me. Actually, my computer died a few months ago. I got out of the habit of writing. Then, after I got a new to me computer, I actually forgot to write! It's important though. It's cathartic at times, it encourages at times. It builds me up in my most holy faith, too.  I miss you, too. Keep at it dearie. Someday, our kids are going to be able to read our blogs when they miss us!Hugs,Laura

  2. It is lovely isn't it? I like being able to help in SOME way others - but I also like that others have helped me even more than they can imagine. What a kinship and bond.
It still amazes me that so many people from around the world come together are really the same. Looking for hope and love!

    1. I've learned so much from blogging. I've also found so many new blogging friends. Isn't it a blessing? I also found that the blogging community was very very supportive during my cancer fight.
      Hugs to you Cheryl!

  3. I enjoyed reading your reasons for blogging. They are very similar to mine. The top of my list is making new friends and sharing my faith and charity knitting/crochet. I'm glad I've found your blog!
    Blessings,

  4. At times blogging for me seems like a difficult chore, but I keep at it. Probably for some of the reasons you listed like reaching others around the world. It is a bit of the teacher left in me because I often write about how to do things. Blog sharing is what brings me in contact with others, especially right now when isolation is extreme. - Margy

    1. Dear Margy,
There have been times that blogging has been difficult for me, too. The most difficult times are when I try to be like other bloggers. I finally decided that my readers don't want me to be like everyone else. They want me, my experiences, my struggles, my faith, my encouragement. I think you'll find that's what your readers like, too.Hugs to you!Laura

  5. I like going back and reading my old posts, they are pretty much like a diary with photos and I read things we did but I’ve forgotten.
My children like to find recipes on my old posts because many of the favorite recipes they grew up on are on my blogs.

Laura, your blog is one of my all time favorites ❤️

    1. Dear Rhonda, It's the same here. I wish my children would go back to my blog. I comfort myself knowing that they will when I die. They will get to know me better then than they knew me in life. My kids say I say morbid things like that. I don't think it's morbid. I'll be 55 on Tuesday. I've had agressive breast cancer that is now gone. I am very aware that life has an expiration date that we do not know. We'd best use our time in good ways.  Hugs to you dearie, Laura

    1. I feel the same way for you Billie Jo. I understand if ladies choose to discontinue blogging. I just wish that they would each tell us, and perhaps give us a way to reach them in the future. By reading and commenting, we do truly get to know each other and care for each other.Hugs to you friend,Laura

Thank you so much for "talking back" to me!

I read all comments and appreciate them.
Please make sure I have your email if you want me to respond or pray for you.

God bless you! This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
