Winter Bucket List 2025

I'm trying to wrap it up!

I wrote this list to help me focus on the little things that bring me joy. I also wanted to get "credit" for some need to do things. Trying to motivate myself, you know?

  • ♥ Put the Christmas trees away
  • ♥ Put away the Christmas decorations
  • ♥ Curl up with a terrific book
  • ♥ Enjoy candle light
  • ♥ Make chili
  • ♥ Knit a pair of gift socks 
  • ♥ Make snow ice cream ~ We had a great snow, and I wasn't ready! Ugh! I did it with the big snow of '25!
  • ♥ Celebrate my son's 34th birthday
  • ♥ Spend an afternoon with a book
  • ♥ Invite friends for dinner ~ We hosted a dinner at church.
  • Catch up on mending
  • Dip Manicure
  • Invite friends for dinner
  • S'mores with friends
  • Read by candle light
  • ♥ Bake bread
  • Knit by the fire
  • ♥ Worship Jesus under the winter stars
  • Get dog's nails clipped... I put it on here 'cause it's needed to be done. 
  • Read an evening away with a good book
  • ♥ Sew a new knitting bag
  • Train my little dog to window shop 
  • ♥ Sew some little zipper bags ~ One done
  • ♥ Pedicure  
  • Use my teapot—white sprinkled with cherries 
  • ♥ Double feature movie night
  • Try a new soup 
  • ♥ Lunch out with a friend 
  • Gaze into the fire in our backyard fire pit. 
  • ♥ Knit for Joy in 2025! I am harvestlanelaura on Ravelry.com.
  • Implement Trim Healthy Mama again.
  • ♥ Take a walk a day. Every day since December 26th!
  • ♥ Knit a bit while enjoying an old movie  
  • Complete my winter reading list!
  • ♥ Put away winter and Valentine's decorations
  • ♥ Smile and spread good cheer

My Spicy Can Opener Soup was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas!

Just had to share this with you again.   My recipe was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas! I have to admit, I was truly surprised when I received a letter from Gooseberry Patch requesting permission to use my recipe in their newest Christmas cookbook.  I've sent in some more complicated recipes, but this one is easy peasy! It's truly a recipe that I threw together using items from my nearly bare kitchen cupboards last winter. I called it Spicy Can Opener Soup.  They changed the name, but the ingredients remain the same.   I was thrilled to receive my very own copy of the book .  Of course, I had to make it up and take some photos to share with you dear ladies. Just Who is Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage?

I'm a big city girl gone small town girl gone country and finally gone back to small town. I live in southern Missouri between Oz and the Ozarks.  I have four children. My daughters live at home. My twenty-four year old daughter is finishing her master's degree through online university, and my 20 year old daughter goes to Christian college. My sons live on their own nearby. The 22 year old son and my 31 year old sons live nearby. I homeschooled all of my children from the beginning through high school. My eldest son went to high school for a year and a half. I met my Jesus when I was fifteen, and my life has never been the same. I married my high school sweetheart almost thirty-six years ago. We started going steady my senior year of high school.
