Be It Ever So Humble, There's No Place Like Home!

Dear Reader,
I had an unusual opportunity today to drive to a nearby city with my husband for the day. Kind friends cared for our children and took them to their co-op class this afternoon. The trip began well. I browsed in a flower/gift shop while my husband did a little business; then, he took me to the office to meet his boss and his boss' wife. They were a friendly couple and Christ shined through. We enjoyed lunch at a pretty Brazilian restaurant, someplace I never would have thought to go myself. Delicious! I need to try new things more often! ~smile~ Then it was off to a business fair with my husband. It was a lot of meeting, greeting, and exchanging business cards. Not exactly my cup of tea! Now, if they'd been quilters, or homeschoolers, that might have been a bit more interesting! ~smile~

By the time we headed home, just nine hours after we left home, I was feeling homesick! I wanted a break so much; and, here I was just wanting to be in my own home. Imagine that. Well, I came home to chaos. It's a mess. Picking up/cleaning up wasn't high on the kids' priority list tonight. ~sigh~ I've decided to wait until tomorrow morning to get to work. But, messy as it is, it is my little town home, my Harvest Lane Cottage.

I think maybe, after spending a day seeing how the other side lives, I'll appreciate Home Sweet Home and the Man that makes being home possible just a little bit more.

Enjoy your home sweet home!

  1. Be it ever so humble . . . I am always glad to return home after having been away, be it for a few hours, a few days or a few weeks. Home truly is where you hang your heart!

  3. Isn't it true- the grass is always greener on the other side! I often feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz- longing for adventure outside of my 4 walls, but when I get out I realize that there's no place like home!

  4. I couldn't agree more!

I wanted to pop in and offer lots of luck and good wishes for your craft fair... this weekend, right? It's a few days early but I thought I might forget!

Can't wait to hear how it goes.
