Can't find time to read? You should try what I call "snatch reading". Five minutes here, five minutes
there. It works well if you're only reading one book and use a post it
note to keep track of what paragraph you're reading. Once upon a time,
it was the only reading I did. Also, take a book with you everywhere you go. Snatch every free moment to read a bit.

Good Morning Laura!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful list of books! I am an avid reader...and our library is my best friend! We have a wonderful system where we can request books from many of the libraries here in Maine free of charge. We request them online, they come to our library...and we return them there. I usually have about 4 books going at the same time...and I am definitely a "snatch" reader! I just finished a wonderful little book entitled "We Would See Jesus," by Roy and Revel Hession. Roy Hession also wrote "The Calvary Road"...another great read.
Have a blessed day,
Laura
Hello Laura, I liked the quote (snatched reading)
ReplyDeleteI have started crocheting again thanks to Amy on
"Gods Grace Overflows"
She is my Amy :)
Have a wonderful and restful evening!
Blessings, Roxy
Hi Roxy,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're crocheting again. You can snatch crochet, too!
Blessings,
Laura
Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
I like inter-library loan. It's a powerful feeling knowing that you can borrow nearly any book you want to read.
I'm glad you snatch the free moments for good!
Blessings,
Laura
Some great reads you've listed! I am doing some snatch reading these days myself. Hoping to find more time this winter when I can curl up all cozy with a good book and hot cuppa and lose myself for a good long time, though.
ReplyDeleteAlways enjoy my visits here - thank you!
Hi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI do miss those times. I hope things will slow down a bit so I can do some curling up and reading once the snow falls.
Blessings,
Laura
Hi Laura what a good idea - I have tried to start 20 mins projects to see if I can fit more in but I like the idea of the snatch as we all have the odd few minutes here and there - plus I have a stack of books to be read! A lovely post as always Laura, big hugs to you and your wonderful family

Hello Sweet Dorothy,
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear from you. As the holidays approach, we'll need to snatch every moment we can for reading or crafting or just hugging someone we love.
Blessings to your day!
Laura
I love to read and have lots more time to do so now. When my kids were little it was snatch reading for sure! Thanks for sharing your booklist at TTF!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your wonderful list! I am always looking out for books to read. My goal is small: one book every month. But, like you, I find that if I read about 10 pages a day, it is a doable goal.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Fellowship Fridays!
Hi Vera,
ReplyDeleteTen pages a day is an excellent way to meet your reading goals. Have you tried YouVersion.com for the Bible? Their reading plans help me to read through the Bible. I like being to check of the boxes for each chapter.
Blessings,
Laura
What a great idea! Snatch a bit of time here and there. I do like the fact that I can have my scriptures right on my phone. Have read them while waiting at the Dr's. office. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Hi Jann,
ReplyDeleteI do that with scripture on my Ipod Touch. Love it while hubby's driving.
I'll probably snatch quilt Grandma Applebutter's quilt.
~smile~
God bless!
Laura
I love the idea of snatch reading. I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks for sharing at My Flagstaff Home!
