Quite a Busy Weekend

Well, ladies, it's been quite a busy weekend, hasn't it? What did you do? Visit with family? Have company at your house? Brave the Black Friday sales? I spent it at the restaurant working with my husband. Long hours on my feet left me feeling really tired and sore. The only shopping I did was late at night on-line.

Tomorrow, the kids will return from Granny and Grandpa's house. I can't wait to see them. It sounds like they have had fun this weekend.  Tomorrow will be a day of rest. Just a bit of picking up to do first. It will be good.

What do you plan to do this week?

Blessings,
Laura of Harvest Lane

  2. Thank you, Linda. The look may change after my little artistic daughter comes home from Granny and Grandpa's house. She's learning. Be blessed with energy and clear thinking, Linda. I know the end of the semester's end can be intense. Eat well, sleep well, God bless you!

  3. Hello Laura! It does sound like you had a busy week. I hope you get the chance to put up your feet and rest!
Well...let's see...this week we will start back up with school, my oldest has guitar lessons and we'll it's still very cold with lots of snow. So I may be finding things to do at home where it's warm and cozy. We canned salsa yesterday...that took up a food chunk of my long day. And to think the first day of winter isn't even here yet.... Trying to find things to do to keep busy...I think I may need to clean out our food pantry, so I can fit in my salsa!
Our Thanksgiving was wonderful and Roxy made most of the dinner. She bought an organic fresh turkey (which had no flavor) and I think next year she's going back to a Butterball...too funny! It was still nice, because I got to hang out with her!!
    Enjoy your week!
    Hugs, Amy

  4. Hello Laura,

I love your new blog look.

So, do you own the restaurant? I am fascinated because I have always wanted to have a family owned restaurant. I would love to be one of your customers :)

I am sorry to hear that you were so tired. I cannot even imagine how you had the energy to do even online shopping after such a day.

I never do Black Friday shopping - cannot endure the hustle and bustle; I prefer the quieter times of shopping.

We had a glorious Thanksgiving Day! My husband kept mentioning all day how spectacular and peaceful it was.

I hope you get good rest today.

  5. Hi Amy,
Because we had company coming in early today, we stayed home from church. We slept in until almost 7:30! I remember when that meant 10:00 or 11:00 when we were young! Then we tidied up the house and waited for our family to arrive. After they left, I was able to relax for a couple of hours before running some errands. It felt so indulgent. I understand why God wants us to have a Sabbath of rest. Until the restaurant closes on the 19th, there won't be much rest at all. Then I have to get busy on making Christmas!

I do wish I could visit with you and Roxy. I think you two are terrific.
Have a wonderful week dear Amy!

    Sincerely,
    Your friend,
    Laura

  6. You are so sweet Hope, thank you.
Owning a restaurant was one of my husband's dreams. I can tell you, it's hard work and long hours... and we're only open from 11-3! Think long and hard and do all your homework. We will be closing on December 19th. It's just not been good for us.
You may find it different for you.

I'd love to have you as a customer. Then I would just sit down and chat with you!
Rebecca of Rebecca's Hearth and Home has visited me at the restaurant. I know her in real life. It was fun.

I had already been looking into some things online, but I had to get them ordered. If you haven't looked at Christian Book Distributors (cbd.com), take a look. They're having fabulous sales and free shipping. I've already ordered from them twice this season!

Have a wonderful week. Mine is going to be super busy again. It may be another week or two before I can start my Christmas Kringling.

    Blessings to you!
I'll be by for a visit soon.

  7. You asked for our plans for this week: finish putting out the Christmas decorations outside (weather-permitting!!), manage the Welcome table at my church ladies' christmas dinner, grocery shopping and laundry. Needlework and finishing a book by Dr. David Jeremiah.

Have a good and productive week at your house!

I'll be working and playing mom taxi as well as trying to put up the fall decor and getting the Christmas decorating started. 9. Hope you were able to rest today after all that work!
    We rested today, after church.
Yesterday we rested early on, then spent the afternoon hauling off some brush, an old recliner, and my son's garbage.
Also walked his dogs, you can't go there that the dogs don't want attention.

  10. Annie your comment made me grin. I did get some rest yesterday. I feel much better this morning. It's a good thing because my schedule is very full.

I have my little dog a new rawhide bone to keep her busy while I was away so much last week. It kept her out of trouble. She was starving for attention yesterday.

I need to get busy now.

    Thanks for talking back!
