Puffy Eyes and Provision

It's been an interesting week. We literally got down to zero money zero income a few days ago. I needed laundry soap and dish soap and gas. I laid out my requests to the LORD. The same day a check came in the mail for $25. We were able to buy all the things I needed. I even had $1 left over! Yay God! Saturday evening, we went to a big fish fry. There were over 200 people there. It was a great time of fish, food, music, and fellowship. While there, a group of friends were standing together talking about my daughter's eyes. They were puffy and red. I was planning on taking her to the doctor Monday to have them looked at. She'd had an allergic reaction to something in the woods. My Friend Joy suggested Benedryl. We go to church together; so, I asked her if she had any. She didn't; but, her husband and another friend's husband each gave me $5 dollars! Wow! Enough to put gas in the car again, get the Benedryl generic, ibuprofen and cough drops! Praise God. Emily'...

Change, Shaking, and Trusting Jesus

No one can provide Internet service to our house even though it's just 2 miles out of town! It's satellite or nothing. So, since satellite is so expensive, it's nothing for now. I'll just use the Internet when I can get to the library once in awhile. I'm not going to give up blogging; I will just have to change how I do it. There are so many changes in our life right now. Our life is being shaken up. The only things that will remain are the things that are really important. We've got to make sure our focus is on the Lord Jesus so that the things that remain are those that are God things. I think this journey is taking us into uncharted territory. We are truly living by faith for every need that we have. When the resources that you have of your own are gone, that's what you do. There's really not any other choice. Well, I guess there's kicking and fussing. I did my share of that a few years ago when we lost our business. I am not really upset a...

In My Kitchen...In My Little House

Hey y'all, I will post photos just as soon as I can. We're still trying to get the Internet to the house. Not having it gets me to the library just a little more often. No one can complain about that. We're really making a lot of progress at the house. I do want to get one more coat of paint on the outside of the cabinets and touch up trim where it's been bumped. I have started putting the shelf paper and some neat rubber mats in the drawers where we put the tableware and such. It's been raining a lot. We had flood waters in the north 20; but, they've all receded now. They were far from the house. It seems like it's been either threatening rain or raining for days. Lovely fall weather! Wink! We've moved our dining room, living room, and some of the bedroom furniture in now. It's beginning to look all cozy. It's a small house; but, so far things are fitting in nicely. Of course, we've elected not to bring all of our furnit...

In the Kitchen....

Hi Friends, Hubby and I finished up the trim in the living room and dining room early this morning. It was before 7:00 a.m. for those of you early birds! ~smile~ Hubby has been working on the kitchen faucet this morning. I've got to go pick up a tool for him; so, I stopped by the library to give y'all an update. Amy, Michael, and Emily have been painting drawers and cupboards. I've got to go back and do a few touch ups. ~grin~ Annie, you should be here! You could paint to your heart's content! It's been raining in buckets around here for a couple of days. I don't think we'll be moving anything for a few days. We want a little solid ground to walk on! The field down by the river is flooding. The water's moving fast. I'm glad it's far from the house. We're up on a rise. All we've had is some water in the basement from ground water. I'm not sure how to fix that problem. I'm glad I've got my big strong man an...

Getting Closer....

The wood floor is finished! Hurrah! We're finishing up the painting over the next 2-3 days. Lowell has put the new sink in the kitchen. Yay! The faucet isn't working, :( . He had to call Moen and they're sending him a part to fix it. If it stops raining, we may be able to start putting furniture in the living room late tonight or early tomorrow. It's been a long 5 weeks. I've not written much. I hope you haven't given up on me. ;) We're having some difficulty finding an internet provider for our area. Blessings to you all as you enjoy Fall!
