Yay!!!!! It's Snowing! Did Someone Say Snow Ice Cream?

Free Desktop Wallpaper from Gooseberry Patch
It's snowing!  Yay!  I've been praying for snow to give us a nice pretty blanket on the ground.  Winter is just supposed to be white.
I sent my son, Michael, outside to set some pie plates and cake pans on top of his canoe to catch the snow.  The canoe is up on sawhorses, so the cat and the chickens won't bother it.  I want to be sure that the snow he collects is clean.   If we collect enough, we'll make snow ice cream
This time, I want to try some Trim Healthy Mama snow ice cream for me.  I might even add some maple flavoring instead of the syrup in this Maple Snow Ice Cream recipe from Jacqueline.
Whichever you try, let it snow let it snow let it snow!

Blessings,
Laura

Update:  I made the Trim Healthy Mama snow ice cream and a second batch with 1/2 maple 1/2 vanilla extract.  Yummy!
If it starts to snow again, the pans will go back out on the canoe!
That sentence looks really ironic!

  2. Yep, the snow sure is pretty! We're grateful it waited until today though! This way we were still able to have church Sunday AND my dad and brother were able to finish the job (outside on a roof of course) they were working on BEFORE the snow came! :)

Enjoy your snow ice cream and stay warm. :)

  8. Hi Kath,

I enjoyed the snow ice cream with the family tonight. There's more snow coming this week. I had to apologize to my husband for praying for snow!

  11. I remember making snow ice cream as a child. My om always said to make sure it was white and not yellow. lol! We added chocolate syrup. Not sure if it was good, or we had too much fun getting it and making it.
    Enjoy yours!

  13. It was good, Linda. Do you know, the snow on our property seems to be lasting a bit longer and staying prettier than areas around us. I think God's blessing me. ~smile~

    May God bless you, too.

  16. I've never made snow ice cream because I was never assured the snow was clean enough... well, now I know how I can do that! Thank you for sharing at the HomeAcre Hop; I hope you'll join us again this Thursday.
