That's me. Clueless about Super Bowl mania. I was surprised yesterday to see a sign as I went into Wal-Mart stating there was just 1 shopping day until Super Bowl. There were lots of people shopping, too. When did Super Bowl become a holiday? For me, it was a regular grocery shopping day. Just prior to Wal-Mart, I'd been at Aldi where the checker told me I had the healthiest things in my cart she'd seen all day. ~smile~ Everyone was buying chips and junk food. I was taking advantage of the broccoli, celery, and veggies that were on sale as well as apples, oranges, bananas, and the cream and cottage cheese I use so frequently with Trim Healthy Mama.
Even at church today the sermon was about the church family being a team much like the unrecognized support people that make the football games happen. Well, I'm not a football person, but I am going to the church Super Bowl party. I'm taking a big pot of chili and crackers as promised by my husband. I'm also taking yarn and a crochet hook. I'm expecting there will be lots of other ladies who don't have a care about the game to talk with. We'll also be having our own half-time with Minute to Win It games.
So, for our family, it will be about the fellowship.
How about yours? Are you football folks or clueless like I am?
Blessings,
Laura

Happy at Home
I LOVE football and am so sad it is almost over! :(
ReplyDeleteOh don't get me started....way over rated!!
ReplyDeleteNot a football fan, although the commercials and half time show are fun. I'm happily sitting by the fire with A Promise Kept in hand.:) Crocheting sounds like fun, too! And Minute to Win it? Sounds great! Lori
ReplyDeleteI would be sitting with you, knitting or sewing and talking...absolutely no interest in football and think there are
ReplyDeletemore important things in the world to get excited about and put millions of dollars into than a football game...
Watched TV, read and saw Downton Abbey..
Hi Lynda,
ReplyDeleteI ended up on my feet most of the night serving and talking with people. I did sit and watch the game for a short while, but I found it to be sad for the Bronchos and got up again.
Hope you have a terrific week!
Blessings,
Laura
Dear Laura,
ReplyDeleteI am clueless just like you! It seems you had a busy night though!
I hope your entire weekend was great. Blessings :-)
It was a good night and a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though we might get some snow this week, too.
Yay!
Blessings to you Kath!
Laura
Hello Laura, Well I am not clueless, but as Sue said it is way over rated. I did not watch it at all yesterday. My Hubby and Grandson sounded just so pitiful in the den I just knew the Broncos were losing.
ReplyDeleteBut as my Hubby said at least they got there!
Funny, many do act like it is a major holiday.
May you have a blessed and wonderful week.
And good going on all the healthy choices in your cart, sometimes I am just shocked over peoples choices on their foods.
Love, Roxy
Hi Roxy,
ReplyDeleteI've had years of bad food choices and it shows. I'm making better choices now. I feel much better for it.
God bless!
You're so cute, Lori. I hope your team won!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage
Hi Lori, I kept busy with visiting, serving, and cleaning up. I did watch a short bit of the game but found it sad that only one team was scoring. I didn't care who won, I just thought it sad.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laura
Your comment made me smile, Sue.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Laura
I'm blessed to have a husband that doesn't care for it either. It was just another normal day for us.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun, Lynda. They're having a tea party at my library to celebrate Downton Abbey. It sounds like a terrific show, but I've not seen it. Perhaps they have it on Netflix.
ReplyDeleteGetting late, I've got to go.
Blessings,
Laura
Hi JuLinda,
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to get together with others at church.
Hope to see you soon.
Blessings,
