Snatch Reading and Fall Reading List 2014

October!  My favorite month of the year!  Cooler temperatures make walks outside with Penny, my puppy, much more pleasant.  I enjoy watching the leaves slowly fade then transform into brilliant reds, yellows, and oranges in anticipation of their November browns.

I enjoy many Autumn activities in October, but one of my favorite is reading.  Can't find time to read?  You should try what I call "snatch reading".   Five minutes here, five minutes there. It works well if you're only reading one book and use a post it note to keep track of what paragraph you're reading. Once upon a time, it was the only reading I did.  Also, take a book with you everywhere you go.  Snatch every free moment to read a bit.

These are the books that I'm reading this Autumn.

Ezra and the Babylonian Captivity at the time of Esther.

Holiday romance during World War II

Ladd's books remind me of Jane Austen.

I just ordered a new study Bible that I hope to wear out.

I'm going to read this again and get healthy.

  1. Keepers of the Covenant and Lady of Willowgrace look good! (judging by the cover and your short description!) I will have to add those to my reading list. I'm always looking for wholesome novels to read.

  4. Good Afternoon, Laura!

You know... I don't like the month of October at all, but I love Autumn! I love the colors and the smell of cinnamon baking in the oven and all the pumpkins decorating the yard.

I love the coolness in the air and the brisk mornings. My guys are getting ready for hunting and we are praying they fill all 3 tags this year. We could sure use the meat in the freezer!

I did finish a book a few days ago. It was so good. It was called the Prayer Box.

I hope you are doing well. Enjoy your cool days!

    Hugs,
    Amy

  5. Hi Laura, I love October as well. I've never thought of reading that way, but it is a great idea! I don't read nearly as much as I use to, but I am determined to read more this year. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  9. Dear Amy,
I do hope your guys get all their deer. This will be the first year my son hunts. He's been working to get a gun, and he's almost got enough. I love all those things about Autumn, too. The cooler weather makes me want to bake and make soup!
    Blessings,
    Laura
