On my nightstand, in my work bag, in my kitchen, in my purse, on my shelves, in my closet, in totes, in boxes, in my Kindle, in my computer... I've got books everywhere! What are you reading?
I read my bible first thing in the morning [So nothing will come up and make me not do it. I use to try it at night..But , would get busy..] This past couple weeks, I haven't read any books.. I have been spring cleaning and getting our house ready to sale ?? SO.. no time.. but hope to read soon. Have a great week.
Hi Laura. I agree. I adore reading and yet confine myself to a reading marathon when on holidays. I'm taking your advice and leaving a book here and there, including in the car, to see if I can rectify that. Thankyou for sharing this at Five Star Frugal. Hopefully others will be similarly inspired. Mimi xxx
I am still reading Matt. 4, and have been for over 2 yrs, every day. Something I felt I was supposed to do, on the temptation of the Lord. I am still working on it, I believe I will know when I am finished. I'm also going through the book of Acts, I'm in chapter 12 right now.
At the library I checked out Trim, Healthy Mama, and Taste of Home Cake Mix Creations, (that sounds ridicules, but I found the cook book when my order for the THM came in. I am also reading Clear The Clutter, Find Happiness. I found 3 - 25 cent books also, On The Way to The Future, Daniel's Visions and the Believer's Hope by Ray Stedman, WW Complete Food Companion, Points Values, and last but not least, Love Finds You in Sugar Creek Ohio. I read novels, and the Stedman book, front to finish, but everything else in bits and pieces as I go along. My Bible study goes from the beginning of the book until the end, except for the long read on Matt. 4
Now I want to go read Matthew 4 just to see what's there! You've got several books going, too. Do you read a bit of all or do you read them one at a time? I read like some folks watch tv episodes, a little here a little there.
I've had so little time for reading lately! I set aside time early each morning to read my Bible, but after that I pretty much just read children's books. I hope to get into a good book soon, though, as this is refreshing to me.
I have a huge pile of books right by my bed waiting to be read. I always read late into the night while laying on my side in bed with my reading light...it's something I look forward to each evening :)
I so enjoy reading too Laura and I appreciate the fact that you have books all over the place. I am especially grateful for the kindle on my phone so that I can take it with me easily and read here and there, otherwise there seems no time. Thanks for sharing with us at Good Morning Mondays. Have a blessed week.
I do snatch reading when I am waiting in the Dr's office. Rarely go to the Dr. so don't do it often enough. I've got to snatch a little more! Thanks for sharing with SYC. hugs, Jann
This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
Hello my dear readers and friends, You've no doubt noticed a change in my blog over the last few weeks and seen hints of health troubles and tests. This is the post I've been avoiding. I just haven't been ready to identify with the problem nor am I sure I want to now. After all, God is the God of miracles. I need miracles, I'll bet you do, too. Here goes. I found a lump on April 22nd. It's been an earth shaker to me and my family for the last few weeks. This was the cause of the exhausting rounds of tests and appointments. Yes. It is breast cancer. It's in all the lumps in my left breast and in a lymph node. My mother and maternal aunt both had breast cancer many years ago. To answer a few questions you might have: The CT scan showed no cancer in the rest of my body. Praise God! The oncologist scheduled me for chemo first because it is an aggressive cancer. They want to shrink it first before surgery. I will also have mas...
Just had to share this with you again. My recipe was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas! I have to admit, I was truly surprised when I received a letter from Gooseberry Patch requesting permission to use my recipe in their newest Christmas cookbook. I've sent in some more complicated recipes, but this one is easy peasy! It's truly a recipe that I threw together using items from my nearly bare kitchen cupboards last winter. I called it Spicy Can Opener Soup. They changed the name, but the ingredients remain the same. I was thrilled to receive my very own copy of the book . Of course, I had to make it up and take some photos to share with you dear ladies. It's simple, quick, and delicious. It's also one of those scrape the bowl clean recipes. It's just this simple. Spicy Can Opener Soup 1 can black beans 1 can Mexican corn with peppers 1 can Rotel type tomatoes w/chiles 1 package of Taco Seasoning Mix and simm...
I'm a big city girl gone small town girl gone country and finally gone back to small town. I live in southern Missouri between Oz and the Ozarks. I have four children. My daughters live at home. My twenty-four year old daughter is finishing her master's degree through online university, and my 20 year old daughter goes to Christian college. My sons live on their own nearby. The 22 year old son and my 31 year old sons live nearby. I homeschooled all of my children from the beginning through high school. My eldest son went to high school for a year and a half. I met my Jesus when I was fifteen, and my life has never been the same. I married my high school sweetheart almost thirty-six years ago. We started going steady my senior year of high school. You might say we're going steady permanently. ~smile~ We have a very big yellow tabby cat, Tiger. Think Garfield with a good attitude. He is actually bigger than our little Doxie mix, Penny. I enjoy writing, knit...
