God's Perfect Timing

Recently, I found out that my van has a problem which we will not be able to fix. It renders the van "dead". Once again, I must learn to live without a vehicle.

God was so good. I went to pick up my son at work. The van began to get hot, but didn't overheat. After he got in the van, the red warning light went on. He was able to help me get the van home.

The praise is that I was not alone. I was not on I-44, a major highway when it broke down. We were able to get it home and to the repair shop (where we found out it would be at least $2000 to fix it... it's worth less than $1000 and has other issues). It happened on the last day that my son had to work in another town. My Emily is at camp for a month.

My husband will be able to take my Michael to his new job early and drop him off, then pick him up on the way home daily.

Emily and Michael will not require me to give them rides for the month of July. Amy will just have to stay at home with me. Just a week before, I said I wish I were a stay-at-home mother. I didn't know how soon that would happen!

Now, I will believe God for a replacement.

    1. Thanks Jill. My husband actually drove it home from the mechanic's shop tonight. Now it's yard art until someone buys it for parts or hubby scraps it.

      Be blessed!

  3. You mentioned a Grace Livingston Hill book "Old Fashioned Girl" yesterday. Did you mean by Louisa May Alcott? I have that book but have never seen it listed by GLH and I collect her books and look for more. If you did mean by her, could you give me the source? I would love to have a copy; I have not seen it on Amazon.
Also I love Laine's Lettrers. She has been such a blessing to me and would love to see more writings by her. I enjoy your blog also. I know it's hard at times but God is faithful and will ssee us thru. Blessings, Sharon D.

    1. Hi Sharon, I replied to your email. I made an error. This is actually Louisa May Alcott. It's in the Kindle with my Hill books, and I made a mistake. Please forgive me.

Laine definitely is an inspiration to many.

  4. Ouch that is a lot of money. Our little truck needs nearly 2000 dollars worth of work and is only worth about what your van is worth. we will make do for now and after we move next year will work toward getting a better vehicle.

    1. We've been making do, too. I wish I could continue to limp along with it. The poor van has worked hard for me. It was as frazzled as all that driving made me! May God bless your truck. Remember. Pray over it. All things are held together in Jesus.

      Be blessed my friend!

    1. Yes, it was miraculous that nearly all my driving duties ended on that very day at that very hour! God is very very good!

May God meet your every need according to His riches in glory.

  7. You know Laura, even though this is a setback it is amazing how God will "nudge" it to a time and place that will benefit us. So many times we've been headed in a "valley" time of life and God has smoothed the way to soften the blows.
I am thankful you are all well and this hardship will be made better with Christ.
    Hugs

Thank you so much for "talking back" to me!

I read all comments and appreciate them.
Please make sure I have your email if you want me to respond or pray for you.

God bless you! This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
