I sewed baby bibs this week. I had some leftover fabric from a couple of dresses I'd made. I bought some cotton batting with a 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby and a gift card I got for my birthday.
There's something about sewing that is so calming for me. It's as though God meant for me to do it. Sadly, I have neglected it for most of my life because I always thought there was something else I should do. I hope to make it a new habit. A habit of joy.

Blessed to be a Blessing
I can sew a button on, but that is the extent of my sewing ability. But I always enjoy marveling at the creations of you who can sew.
ReplyDeleteThe bibs are really cute. I especially love the pink one. I'm sure the recipients of the bibs will love them---a beautiful, practical gift AND made with love by hand.
Have a blessed day.
Love,
Patti
I love to get handmade things Patti. I understand though. I cannot paint or draw or do artsy things. I'm a needle girl—primarily sewing, knitting, crochet.
DeleteI'm happy you're sewing again...and such a wonderful project...handmade is always a blessing.
ReplyDeleteMama Bear
Thank you Mama Bear. I need to get started on something else before I lose my momentum! Your comment really touched me.
DeleteI'll be over for a visit in just a bit.
Sincerely,
Laura Lane
Your bibs are adorable, my friend! There is a sweet lady in our church that is having a baby in August and I'm thinking maybe a handmade bib to go along with the blanket I made her is a must :)
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
Oh do Stephanie. They aren't hard, and I know you can make something that's truly adorable. It's who you are dearie!
DeleteThese will be lovely gifts sure to be appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI know I just love to get handmade gifts. They mean so much to me.
DeleteThe bibs are adorable!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Michelle.
DeleteThose are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics you used.
I need to make some,
The grands neck is too round for the infant ones,
And he is too small for the size of the larger purchased ones.
I used a pattern I printed out a hundred years ago from a blog that is no longer online. I googled, but couldn't find her anywhere. That's why I didn't share the link. Perhaps you can use the neck of one of his shirts that fits to get a size for the neck.
DeleteHave a wonderful week!
Laura
Thank you for sharing such pretty bibs. You gave me the push I need to get going and sew again.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Rita. I need to choose my next project. I am thinking about some tea wallets.

ReplyDeleteThanks Jes. I need to plan my next sewing project soon before I loose my groove!
DeleteWhat cute bibs, Laura! Glad you like to sew. I'm not quite there yet. ;) I can sew a straight line and sew on buttons! Ha!
