Happy First Day of Fall!

Hello ladies!

Happy Fall y'all. Just had to say it! It's been in the '90's here in Southwest Missouri. I have hope for the future though! I may not get any fall weather today, but I'm going to seize the day for all it's worth!

I'm so excited for this first day of Fall. It feels like summer, but I am going to burn a Maple Pumpkin Muffin* candle, drink a cup of tea, close my eyes and make believe!

Be blessed!

Thrilled to be in what
I believe to be the most

  1. Happy 1st day of fall to you too! It has been fall here for several weeks, and winter's chilly breath doesn't seem too far away! Hope that you get to experience a lovely fall this year, and have fun doing all your fall bucket list ideas! Hugs to you today :)

    1. Oh it's amazing how different things can be in different parts of the country Spicing Up. Do you know Mrs. White of Legacy of Home? She lives in the mountains of Vermont. She has written of preparing for winter in August in previous years. It could be 70 degrees or 20 degrees on Christmas day here in Southwest Missouri.

      Hope you enjoy your Autumn!

  3. You know...its Fall yes, but its very hot here too. I think I'll close my eyes and make believe too. Its coming, but at its own pace! ;)
My guys are hunting and I've been enjoying my two little guys, baking, reading, enjoying sweet movies, hanging out with friends and family and decorating for Fall. That's the best I can do, until the leaves change and the weather cools.
    Enjoy your weekend, Laura!

    1. That sounds wonderful Amy. I just haven't had the interest in decorating since it's been hot, I have a Christmas Preparation Party that I'm hostessing at church tomorrow, and I am trying to prepare for the yard sale this week. Maybe after I recover from the sale, it will be cooler, and I will feel like it. Enjoy your week!

    1. Much too warm for me. I keep telling myself not to complain. I'm not listening well enough!

Nevertheless, I've got a pot of chicken and dumplings simmering!

      Blessings,

  5. I'm in Missouri, too, in an older suburb near St. Louis, and it is hot here, too, today. I planned on being excited about the first day of Autumn today, and I was and am, but after I finished carrying groceries into the house, I was so hot it left me dis-inclined to do anything concerning Fall at all this day. Apparently, the "make believe" section of my brain had been frazzled by the heat. Did you have to turn the air conditioner a bit cooler when you lit that beautiful cinnamon scented candle and had your tea? I would have had to.

The weather forecasters say it will be much cooler next week. I am definitely ready for some Fall decorating then, and maybe even some nice cozy, cooler weather food.

    Happy Autumn!

    1. Alas, Susie, it's been such a busy day, I haven't lit that candle and had that tea yet. I'm planning to do it tonight. Thanks for reminding me. I had to run errands this afternoon, too. It's so very hot. I didn't have ac in my husband's car. It's too late in the season to spend the big bucks for ac. I was quite hot when I got home, too. I have hope though! I have a friend who lives in Ellisville. I always enjoy visiting. I am so happy to meet you. I'll zip over to your blog and take a look see!

      Be blessed!

  6. Good Evening Laura,

Autumn is my favorite season, too. Our weather up here on the Montana prairie is much cooler than Missouri. Today we've had quite a bit of wind which has begun to blow the gold and red leaves off the trees. Our driveway always looks so pretty covered over with a colorful carpet of autumn colors.

    Blessings,
    Mrs.B

    1. Oh, wouldn't some cool weather be nice? I guess we should try to enjoy the warmth. The weather will be much colder before we know it. Hugs to you Judy!

    1. Me too, Billie Jo. I'm hoping the little window air conditioner in our bedroom makes it until the cool weather. It's funny how we want to be cool in summer and warm in winter. Hope your Sunday is great.

  9. Hot up here too. I keep saying it's a nice day because it's been hot all summer, snow is going to do me in. Love fall, glad it's here ....on paper.

  10. It is nice and warm here (All right, it's really hot) but I look at it as just a very nice extension of swimming weather.

    1. Hi Anne,
It would be nice to go to the creek one more time. My eldest son told me that the nice area where we walked into the water has washed away. If that's true, I'm not sure how I'll get in. I need an easy slope. I don't want to crawl up and down banks— even if they are short.
      Happy warm weather!

  11. It's warm here too in NC so even though I have containers out to decorate I haven't actually done it yet... Just doesn't feel like fall with 90 degree weather, lol. Temperatures are supposed to drop this week so will try to get some decorating done. Have a great week!

    Blessings,
    Jill

    1. I haven't decorated for fall yet, Jill, but I have a tub of Christmas books and videos in my dining room! I had my Christmas Prep party yesterday! I'll have another on October 25th and a last one on November 25th. Trying to have a stress less Christmas! I'll be over for a blog visit in a few minutes.
      God bless you,
      Laura
