As I write ... Sunday evening
The weather.... Beautiful compared to the Carolinas.
Right now I am... just finished eating a very late supper. I was talking with a friend on the phone long-distance when supper time came.
Thinking... I need to sort a few fabrics tonight. I'm not going to sew, but sorting fabrics is part of the process. I have in mind to make a handbag this week, but I need to see if I have fabrics that I want to use. If not, the project will go on the back burner for awhile.
On my reading pile... I'm still reading the same books.
Favorite blog posts last week...
For those of you wondering if I'm going to make a Fall Bucket List this year, YES! It should come out on or before the first of Fall.

My prayer for you, my dear reader...
Dear Jesus,
It seems like everyone has something she is worrying about these days. You told us not to worry but to trust you. Father help us to look to you for our every need.
Father, I ask that whatever that need is—provision for a bill, for food, for education or whatever—healing for herself or a loved one—relief from pain, or fear, or anxiety—reconciliation with a loved one or between family members—salvation for someone they care about—I ask you to meet her needs. Holy Spirit, please wrap your loving arms around each reader. Speak truth to them. Bring salvation, bring peace, bring faith, bring hope. Thank you so much for your provision of salvation and everything we need. I bless your Holy Name Jesus! Amen.

Busy Busy Monday Modest Mom Wonderful Wednesday Share Your Cup
I got Fervent for Christmas and still haven't picked it up! I desperately need too! I'm with you in those prayers, everyone is so anxious and busy, I wish everything would slow down and refocus! Thank you for the prayers for the Carolinas, my little hometown has some major flooding but was spared the brunt of the storm (we are near the outer banks!) but we know a lot of people in the storms path. Your hair looks beautiful and have an amazing coffee shop day! Those days are the best days :) Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteHi Stacy,
DeleteThere's no time like the present to pray! How are you doing? I don't have television, so I don't get much news about the hurricanes.
Blessings,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage
I really enjoyed stopping by today Laura! Praying the side effects of your treatments ease and go away! Your picture was beautiful! My Mom is a cancer survivor! I remember what it was like when she lost hers! Just know your in my prayers for healing! I hope you have the fabric for the bag you want to sew and post pictures, I cant wait to see it! I hope you have a blessed week!
ReplyDeleteHi Shellie!
DeleteThanks for talking back and for the prayers. I'm so glad you've still got your mama. I haven't taken any photos of what I've done so far. I need to see if I can borrow my husband's phone or my daughter's camera.
Blessings,
Laura
Happy Monday, thanks for sharing your day, I picked up the Fervent book at Goodwill but haven't started to read it yet. I wish I had a knitting group sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteI borrowed Fervent from the coffee shop. I decided to stop reading and buy my own copy soon.
DeleteThanks for talking back!
Laura
What a wonderful picture! Enjoyed reading your post today. Hoping to maybe get to some fall decorating around here as well. Of course, I think I'll make that a Friday thing. Hard to feel motivated for fall in 90 degree weather. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Jean,
DeleteThanks! My hair's a bit longer now. That was a few weeks ago. I've been taking my grown son to dr appts this week. He's doing better, but still sick. I haven't done as much as I'd like. It is hard when it's in the '90's!
Enjoy today!
Laura
Hi Laura, I'm happy to see you so animated (you've always been), and I see you in your photo very beautiful and with a beautiful smile ... You know? it is God who is with you ...
ReplyDeleteYou transmit beautiful things to us, advice, in reality you transmit to us your LIGHT, what you have inside, dear friend.
Blessings
Dolores
Why thank you Dolores! I always enjoy hearing from you. God has been so good to me. I must smile and smile often. Any light in me is the Holy Spirit shining through. Praise Jesus. I'm just so happy to be alive and have a future. We don't appreciate that enough.
DeleteGod bless you!
Mrs. Laura Lane
I think that beautiful photo of you is the best thing I have seen all day!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you, my sweet friend.
Hugs!
You are too sweet!
DeletePraying for your healing. Have a great week
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Stop by again.
DeleteBlessings,
Laura
Blessings to you Laura! It is good to see you to do list is long like mine! Happy Fall.
ReplyDeleteSherry
The pic of you-Love, love, Love!
ReplyDeleteAren't you a sweetheart Kellylynn! I'm so happy to have some hair again. I had a bad hair day a few days ago and put on a cap. Oddly, I felt more comfortable that way. I think it's because I wore one for over a year.
DeleteBlessings,
Mrs. Laura Lane
A beautiful picture of contentment, which made me smile. Always a joy to see someones list as long as mine, I often wonder since taking early retirement how I ever had time to go to work.
ReplyDeleteWe could sure use some extra income, but I have no idea when I could work!
DeleteBlessings,
Laura
Beautiful photo of you!! A knitting group... oh how I would love to have one to go to... (or well, crochet as well!) Can't wait to see the dog sweater!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI found the group in January. It's been a great distraction.
DeleteI cast on the sweater on Tuesday evening. It's a bit slow going as I learn the new stitch pattern, but I think it will speed up soon.
Hugs,
Laura
You look wonderful in your photo ; your hair is growing back in gorgeously! I can't imagine your insurance company telling you no on the reconstructive surgery. Praying for a speedy answer for you!
ReplyDeleteHi Penny,
DeleteThanks. I feel like my hair is a bit thin, but I'm thankful to see new growth even since the photo a few weeks ago.
My surgeon's appointment was Sept. 5. I'd been waiting for months to find out when I'd have surgery. Of course we couldn't set a date. I hope it's not going to ruin October for me. It's my favorite month.
Blessings,
Laura
Enjoyed reading your post, Laura! I'm working on my fall bucket list, too (am actually trying to narrow it down to a manageable size!). Did you come up with the fabrics that you needed to make the handbag that you've got in mind? Blessings for a beautiful week ahead, my friend! You and your family are always in our hearts and in our prayers! Love you! <3
ReplyDeleteMy bucket list is completely unmanageable, but I did cut out some things because of surgery. Wed Oct 10 at 7:30 a.m. outpatient. Fun fun!
DeleteI love this post. Good reminders of things I can be praying for. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Cindy. It is nice to meet you. Do drop in again.
DeleteBlessings,
Laura
I love the picture. You look wonderful! So good to hear how you are doing and what you are up to. I hope to do some sewing soon. Things tend to quiet down when the cold season comes along. It is easier to sew in fall and in winter months.
ReplyDeleteDear Mrs. White,
DeleteThank you! I am feeling so much better. My hair has grown enough that I now have bad hair days! I am beginning to feel like doing more around the house, too. I've neglected things for the last year. It's going to take awhile to get things in shape, but I'll just keep at it.
Be blessed dear friend,
Laura Lane
You look lovely as always and I know you are glad your hair is growing back. Sounds like some busy good plans.
ReplyDeleteAlways I plan more than I can do! I must admit I miss my long hair, but someday.
