All week long I've been trying to decide what project to cast on. I think I've had knitter's block. I just searched and searched, but I couldn't find anything that I both felt like knitting and had the correct yarn for. I really wanted to use the Painted Sky yarn. Oh well. I still haven't cast on.
I've been having trouble with my Reyna Shawl. I had to pull out several rows. You can see the purple wrapped around the outside of the blue yarn above. I got it back on the needles, but haven't knit another stitch. This is the point at which I became discouraged last time I tried.
I've been wanting to try Knit Picks Dishie yarn, too. I ordered a skein so I wouldn't have to pay shipping for an individual skein.
Oh, I'm still reading Christy, too!
Have a great week! I'll try to be on time with my post next Wednesday!

Such beautiful yarn from Knit Picks, love the colour combination. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it.
ReplyDeleteI cast on the black 2 by 2 ribbing this morning. I'll share as I go. Thanks for your encouragement.
DeleteGood morning, Love that pretty yarn, you will make something lovely I am sure. I love that book Christy, I have read it a few times, the first time was in 7th grade. Have you every read the book Julie? It is written by Catherin Marshall also! Cold here today, so thankful for our wood stove. Blessings dear friend!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Roxy
I've never read Marshall before. Her command of descriptive phrases is magnificent. It's quite cold here, too. My husband has started a fire in our stove.
DeleteKeep warm!
Laura
Your yarn is so pretty! We used to have Christy on paperback but I'm not sure if we still have it. It's cold here too and we are getting snow tomorrow into Monday so no daily walk for me. Brrrr!
ReplyDeleteIt's worth looking for the book. It was so much more than the movie. I was surprised by the ending as well.
DeleteTonight was knit night. Nothing too exciting—just the black brim of a colorwork hat. I hope by next week to have something neat to share.
Be blessed!
Laura
Beautiful colors! I'm looking forward to your finished projects.
ReplyDeleteMe too Kelli! Me too!
DeleteLaura,
ReplyDeleteYour new yarn is just stunning! I love that shade of purple/blue. I visited the link for the hat you plan to knit and it is beautiful. I have never done color work before, but would love to try to some day. : )
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
DeleteI've only done one hat before. I've watched YouTube videos to learn how to do it. You should give it a try.
Frozen Snowflakes Beanie Hat.
You can get the kit from Craftsy.com. It's on sale right now. You can choose your colors. Here's the link: https://shop.mybluprint.com/knitting/kits/frozen-snowflakes-beanie-hat-knitting-kit/466775
Be brave, but work on it during nap time at first!
Can't wait to see your Alaska hat!
ReplyDeleteThanks Penny. I'm still working on the ribbing. Black is challenging in some light! I'll share as I go.
DeleteBe blessed,
Laura
I love Catherine Marshall's writings, I've got copies of almost all her books. She has such a way with words! You are doing great with all your knitting projects, that is quite a list you have going for the year so far! Prayers continued upwards for you sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteHi Marilyn,
DeleteI have been reading and knitting, but not getting many of my Winter Bucket List items done. You're still on my list for a chat. Thank you for praying for me. I am having pain in my leg and knee that may be a side effect of the pill I am taking to prevent the cancer from coming back. I'll see the doctor this week and see what he thinks.
Be blessed my friend afar!
Laura
