10 Ways to Beat Writer's Block - Blogging Edition

Image
When You Don't Know What to Write...   1)  Grab a cup of tea or favorite beverage and relax.  Remember writer's block from Junior High?  It can rear its ugly head with bloggers, too.  Don't let it stress you out.  2)  Pray for inspiration.  Many of us use our blogs to honor God and share His love and His Word .  Why not just ask Him what He'd like you to write today?  3)  Read your Bible, and use a verse as a springboard.  This dovetails nicely with number two.  A favorite verse or one that stands out to you today can be the perfect spark to get your writing thoughts moving.  4)  Begin with a favorite quote .  History and good books are filled with great thoughts from great and not-so-great persons that might help your own thoughts flow.  5)  Use a photo for inspiration.  What does it say to you?  What might be happening in the photo?  Write a caption....

Apron Strings and Little Things

Image
Hello everyone.  I have been sewing this week. It's part of the 52 Week Sewing Challenge that I joined last week. We were challenged to finish at least one work in progress. This apron laid dormant for a long time. A few weeks before I found the lump which turned out to be breast cancer, I began preparing one of my old worn out aprons to be used as a pattern for a new one with this garden print. There wasn't quite enough to finish the neckline. Who would guess an apron would take that much? I've got some left over for another project now. I have leftover fab...

Hello! Welcome to 2020! Can you believe it? It's an awesome privilege to be alive at a time such as this. Take it from a gal who was handed a cancer sentence  two and a half years ago. Praise God He healed me. I will live and not die and declare the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Psalm 118. I was talking to my husband the other night. He agrees that it would be good to do something special on the 20th of each month this year. A chance like this happens once in a lifetime...1818, 1919, 2020, etc. Many of my loved ones didn't get to see a year such as this. I'm thankful God saw fit to allow me to see it and enjoy it. There seems to be a lot of optimism among people that I've spoken with about this coming year. Perhaps it's the fact that it's a new decade as well as a new year. Perhaps it's that 2020 sounds like a year of clear vision. Perhaps it's that the economy is doing so well. Thank you President Trump. Perhaps it's becau...
