Life Changes... A New Season

Hello friends,

 I wanted to jot you a quick note this morning. My season of homeschooling has come to an end. I graduated my last daughter Amy in January. I've spent the last month praying about what God wants me to do next. I recognize this as my year for redefining Laura.

 I have accepted a position as a part-time secretary for a local chiropractor. He was homeschooled, so I expect he will understand as I transition into the position. After all, twenty-nine years is a long time to be out of the work place. Oh, I've worked during that time, but it has always been working for my husband in his business or helping him in other ways. My husband came to me with this position and the possibility. I felt like it was God's leading for this season.

 So, hi ho hi ho, it's off to work I go. I'll write to you later.

    Congrats on the new job. I totally understand where you are coming from. This year is going to be my season of change as well. It has been horrible adjusting to being alone - but this year I have to take steps to find me.

      Dear Cheryl,  I'm not sure about how I feel about it. I could tell I didn't work at home today. ~smile~ I didn't have the energy to do it all tonight. Hopefully, I will find a good routine so that I don't have to give up the things that are important to me.Blessings,Laura

    I am so happy for you! You will be a great secretary and you will be a blessing to that office! I think you will enjoy getting out a seeing and meeting new people, as it can get very lonely when everyone else is grown and gone and hubby is working!     Congratulations on the new job, Laura! I remember when our last one was done. I hadn't worked outside the home in over a quarter of a century and I was like...now what am I going to do? The job at Prairie has allowed me to keep teaching and has gone a long way towards fulfilling our dream of debt-freedom, as well as being the means of allowing us to do many things that we wouldn't have been able to do otherwise, so I am thankful. I pray that this job proves to be a means of many blessings for you and yours and that you enjoy it! Blessings, my friend! <3

    Hey.. congrats on your new job. Life is all about changes right and that’s what keeps us all moving forward. I did work for sometime and now working from home. The transition phase is tough., but we will get through. All the best. Hope you have a smooth transition.
