  1. I've been reading Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder as one of the challenges for Brighter Winter reading program sponsored Daughters of Promise magazine.
I'm going to get my crochet hook and yarn and crochet some mittens.

  2. Your scarf and hat are beautiful. And that’s a cute picture of you! I admire knitters; you all make it look so easy. We are expecting a winter storm, which is rare in our part of NC. I have plenty of projects to keep myself busy. I’m reading a book by Kaye Gibbons, Charms For the Easy Life. It is so good, I ordered four more of her books from eBay already. 🤪 stay warm!

  3. Hi! That is going to be a cute pair of mittens. The colors are lovely. (I hope they're going to be mittens...LOL! I don't know how to knit and can barely crochet.) I am trying to read The Three Musketeers by Dumas. The 1950 translation. I am also reading Beautiful in God's Eyes by Elizabeth George in my morning devotions time. Plus lots of other things with the kids.

I didn't know that about scribd. If I read more electronically, I would check it out but I don't.
    God bless you.

  5. Your mitten is lovely, and I love your fiddly bits scarf and hat! I've got a blanket square on my needles. A friend recently passed, and our friend group is knitting and crocheting squares to be made into blankets for her children. I cast my stitches on yesterday and will start working on the first square tomorrow. :)

Currently reading Notes from an Apocalypse: A Personal Journey to the End of the World and Back by Mark O'Connell. It's the author's examinations of the end-of-the-world industries (like Doomsday Prepper-type stuff). It's interesting and not nearly as gloomy as it sounds; the author has a fabulous writing style and an incredible vocabulary, not to mention a great sense of humor. I'll finish this probably tomorrow, and then it's on to Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth by Noa Tishby. :)

  7. Love your beautiful hat and scarf Laura, the colors are so pretty and vibrant! I've been doing some deep cleaning of a closet this week, and it feels good to get it cleaned out, and some of it packed off to the thrift store! I am making chicken fajitas for supper and making homemade tortillas, a lovely Friday evening treat! I hope you are having a wonderful day, and as always, your stitchery projects are amazing!

    1. Sounds like a wonderful dinner. I need to do some more deep cleaning. We got a bit of a start over Christmas break, but there always seems to be more, doesn't there? Perhaps it's the stage of life?
Have a wonderful snowy week and think of me. Wish you could send me a bowlful to make snow ice cream!

  8. Cute hat and scarf 🧣! I made soup a couple of nights this week as it was crazy cold! Really cost very little to make so I believe it was frugal. 😋 Hugs Roxy

    1. Thanks Roxy, I knit the fiddly bits hat and scarf a couple of years ago. It was great fun. Soup's one of my favorite things to make. So many ways to be creative!
      Blessings,
      Laura
P.S. I've misplaced your email address.

  9. We all have to find things to keep us busy while spending so much time at home. I love quilting and have been giving lessons to neighbors and friends, not for pay, but for time together and to build friendships. It opens up communication an opportunities to share my testimony. Times are so hard for so many and more people are seeking the Lord. That is one good thing to come out of covid.
