It is great to be part of a bigger community of Christian ladies who believe in femininity not feminism, home living, homemaking, homeschooling, and making do with what we've got.
Thank you ladies!
What have you learned from other bloggers?

Miss Laura, there's an incredible amount of useful
ReplyDeleteinformation available on the internet.
I've watched tutorials on sewing, gardening, baking
and redoing old furniture.
I've used a lot of what I learned to make a cozy, frugal and comfortable home.
It's so important that you and other ladies are
teaching these skills.
Now more than ever it's important.
The current financial issues facing us all are not getting better. So many are struggling to keep their heads above the water.
Keep teaching use it up,make do or do without!
I shall renew my efforts to do so. I've been a bit lacksadaisical lately. Fall is coming, and so is a bit more structure for my life and my blog!

Hi Laura! I learned some of those same things. It is an amazing time to learn and grow along with dear friends. Let's see, hum, not so long ago I found out how tiny sweet pea seeds are. They are scattered across the porch table now from a roadside bunch I picked this time and enjoyed for several weeks. I never had them before, because my husband did not like all the bees they drew in. Since we are sort of on the way to getting hives maybe next year we've been searching out wild flowers that feed the bees!
ReplyDeleteI also found a new flat bread recipe to try. That's still in the works too, but I have book marked a video to try. Let's see, I learned to air fry new foods to use so little oil. I'm learning not to fry it hard as a rock, it's so much better that way!
I also learned to.grow potatoes in a cardboard box. I have not harvested them yet, but I did see one before I put on more soil. It looked terrific!
Seems like that's a lot of things coming up, but that's okay. It gives me joy to look forward to new things.
Yes, my current situation is still the same on going misery after these many years. You know the heartache of that but I learned that Jesus sustains me even in that. I would like to think I am a better person than I was. So I still am holding onto Him. I am very grateful He is holding on to me.
.
It's funny, years ago I didn't know how to do much of anything. I was intimidated by my MIL and her cooking, along with all kinds of things she knew being the good mountain woman she is. I am no longer intimidated by her, I just love her now and that makes our relationship much better.
Remember all those really old County Living magazines with Jo Northrup in them? I wanted to live that kind of simple country style life back then. After all.these years I pretty much have done that, except for having an old farmhouse, that is still on my wanna get list! Who knows? I just might learn what that feels like just a little farther down the road. Hugs friend! Annie

Hi Laura, I love this post because I feel the same way :) Every morning I get my cup of coffee and I can't wait to see what this community has been up to. I sit and read and learn what books are good, what movies to watch, hear about someone's favorite scripture or how they spend time with family. This community inspires me to live frugally, stock my pantry or use it up. I'm blessed by the calm demeanor of some and then uplifted by the adventures some take. I love the wisdom that's shared and even the tough moments that we hear about, because they remind me to keep going. I get a little bit of everything and I can't wait to check in every morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for a sweet reminder of all that this community has to offer...you included :)
