Review: Learn How to Make Doll Clothes with Rosie!

This has been a life changing experience for Amy!
Rosie's How to Sew Doll Clothes is the absolute best enrichment product we have ever used.

I felt like a friend had come to my house to personally teach my daughter to sew.  Amy and I sat together each day and watched some of Miss Rosie's sewing videos.  The course is designed to take six weeks.  We took a bit longer because Amy wanted to start sewing even before we'd finished all the videos in the course. ~smile~  We used the on-line videos and the free patterns and instructions that Rosie included with her How to Sew Doll Clothes Course.

- Friendly patient format
- Detailed explanations
- You can replay the videos over and over until you understand the techniques.
- Showed my daughter how to use a tools I either hadn't used or hadn't thought to teach her to use.
- Easy to understand. My eleven year-old started using what she learned the first week.
- I have been sewing for over thirty years. I learned new things! Do not do the math if you're my friend!
-This is a super clear step-by-step system of videos that you can watch over and over with lifetime access!
- DVDs are available if you prefer to have a permanent copy of the videos.

-You get over 130 step-by-step instructional videos, free patterns, and access to the videos for a full 12 months.

My thoughts:
When it came time to make the first garment, sport shorts, Rosie had a video for every single step in the sewing process.  There was no guesswork at all.  I am absolutely certain that someone with no sewing experience, except maybe plugging in the machine and threading it, can use Rosie's How to Sew Doll Clothes with success.  Videos were available, along with written instructions, for every pattern which was included.

I want you to know that both Amy and I have contacted Rosie with questions.  She has been prompt in her responses and so very friendly.  Amy and I feel like we have a friend, as well as a teacher, in Miss Rosie.  I have a feeling we'll be talking about Miss Rosie for a long time with fond remembrances.  I know we'll be using the things we've learned.

If you are a momma or grandma or auntie looking for a gift that will last a lifetime, this is it.  The skills that your little girl, or not so little girl, or you learn will transfer into clothing, accessory and decorative sewing.  I've learned new things even after sewing for most of my life.

My eldest daughter, Emily, is fifteen.  She isn't interested in doll clothes, but I am going to have her go through the program anyway.  I believe she will learn skills that will be invaluable to her as she enters life as a wife and mother someday.

The best benefit for me has been personal.  Sewing doll clothes with Rosie's videos and patterns has brought a whole new dimension to my relationship with my daughter, Amy.  There's a shared passion now that we didn't have before.  I'm excited about the fun we are going to have sewing together.

This is the crop top.  I lengthened the pattern one inch because Amy's dolls aren't allowed to wear anything she cannot wear.  We found it a bit short for us, but it was easy to adjust.Amy's favorite pattern to make was the sport shorts. She made several pairs.

This is the short version of the sarong skirt.  There's also a halter top that can be paired with it to make a swim suit.  The long version of the sarong would make a nice dressy skirt.

Amy's been sewing nearly every day.

With the confidence Amy gained, she went on to make more garments with scraps we had around and altered some thrift store finds, too.

Without Rosie's program, Amy might not have learned of her love of sewing for quite some time.

THANK YOU MISS ROSIE!

A Don't Want to Put it Down Book! ..... Review: Judge by R.J. Larson

I loved Judge
Second in the Books of the Infinite series.
You can read my review of the first book, The Prophet.

This fast moving narrative is intriguing from the first page.  R.J. Larson has a knack for writing superb descriptions of the fantasy world she has created.  I can really see the surroundings in my mind.  Judge is a beautiful love story both spiritually between the Infinite and His people and in the natural between characters.

Tension builds as one intense scene follows another, then it dispels slightly with the humor prinkled in liberally.  Even as I set the book down to get back to "real life", I was left thinking of my relationship with the Infinite, Larson's name for God the Creator.  God's passion for us is brought forth beautifully.

As I was reading the book of Jeremiah this week, I was reminded of scenes from Judge that paralleled.  It was easy to see where Mrs. Larson found some of her ideas.

I cannot wait to read the next book!  Here's a little snippet from the publisher:

"Kien Lantec, you will bear witness to my followers in ToronSea.
The last thing Kien Lantec expects on his first day of military leave is to receive marching orders from his Creator, the Infinite. Orders that don't involve destroyer-racing or courting the love of his life, Ela. Adding to Kien's frustration, his Infinite-ordained duties have little to do with his skills as a military judge-in-training. His mission? To warn the people of ToronSea against turning their backs on the Infinite to worship a new goddess.
Tell them I see they are beguiled. Tell them I seek their hearts. The wise will hear Me.
But why Kien? Isn't this the role of a true prophet, such as Ela of Parne? Seeking answers, Kien visits Ela and finds her stricken by a devastating vision of her own. Her birthplace, Parne, has forsaken their Creator and will soon suffer judgment. Pulled in separate ways, each must seek to follow the Infinite's leading... and hope He will reunite them again soon.
Child of dust, will you be My servant?"
