Ginny, Marie, Katy, thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement.

Yes, we have gone through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. Ironically, we were making less than our bills while taking it; and My Lowell lost his position right after taking it! So, we've not gotten to implement anything other than the concept of paying rent, utilities, gas and food before paying other bills. It's remarkable that we had to have someone to tell us that. But it's like we had to have permission to take care of our family before our creditors and dr/hospital bills!

I truly appreciate the prayers that y'all have sent up for us. I know that My Jesus is interceding on our behalf. I thank God that others are also. I don't completely understand it; but, I know it helps a lot.

    Sometimes a knot at the end of the rope is all we need! THis too shall pass and there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I know because I have been in the same tunnel. ((((hugs))))

My Spicy Can Opener Soup was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas!

Just had to share this with you again.   My recipe was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas! I have to admit, I was truly surprised when I received a letter from Gooseberry Patch requesting permission to use my recipe in their newest Christmas cookbook.  I've sent in some more complicated recipes, but this one is easy peasy! It's truly a recipe that I threw together using items from my nearly bare kitchen cupboards last winter. I called it Spicy Can Opener Soup.  They changed the name, but the ingredients remain the same.   I was thrilled to receive my very own copy of the book .  Of course, I had to make it up and take some photos to share with you dear ladies. I'm a big city girl gone small town girl gone country and finally gone back to small town. I live in southern Missouri between Oz and the Ozarks.  I have four children. My daughters live at home. My twenty-four year old daughter is finishing her master's degree through online university, and my 20 year old daughter goes to Christian college. My sons live on their own nearby. The 22 year old son and my 31 year old sons live nearby. I homeschooled all of my children from the beginning through high school. My eldest son went to high school for a year and a half.
