Thankfulness Day 4 All Home

May 22, 2011
5:41
We heard no sirens... only a tremendous thundering that didn't stop.
I thank God...
We were all home.

 We were all safe.

We were all praying for Joplin

...THANK YOU GOD...
Thank you God that you preserved us and so many lives across Joplin.  Though we were miles from the destruction, the path of the tornado was headed our way.   May we continue to give and share your love, the love of God with those who were affected.

Thank you for the thousands of volunteers you've sent and the generous supplies you've sent.  May we continue to be generous to those in need both in body and in spirit.
Amen.

  1. What a wonderful thing to be thankful for! I recall during the big Alabama tornado scare (right before the Joplin one) we were in our basement listening to the HAM radio, checking internet and TV sources, and saw that one was a few miles away and headed our direction. We took cover in our only completely window-free, totally underground room. It was later spotted a couple of miles away in the same trajectory. Although it was not one of the largest tornadoes that day, it was of significant size, and it apparently did not reach the ground during that time frame. However, we found all sorts of strange yard debris over the following few days--pieces of roof, unusual foliage, still green, wrapped around some of our trees or draped on it. Evidence that it passed overhead.

  2. That is certainly a huge thing to be thankful for!

I lived most of my life in various areas of tornado alley and have vivid memories of the storms (with and without sirens). I am thankful that more people didn't lose their lives! The survival stories have certainly been nothing short of miraculous!

God bless you! This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
