I named my children with the meanings in mind. I have a daughter named Amy. It means beloved. We are the beloved of the Lord. I also have a daughter named Emily Anne. Anne means full of grace. It's wonderful to see the grace developing in all our lives. Extending it to others can be as difficult as accepting it from God who loves us. ~smile~
Blessings,
Laura
I've always taken the meanings into account when naming my kiddos as well: Ezekiel - God's strength, Elisha - God's salvation, and Zachariah, God has remembered. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, my boys have Biblical names, too. Matthew - beloved and Michael - man of God.
ReplyDeleteHello Laura :)
ReplyDeleteI love biblical names as well, but unfortunately we weren't blessed with children. However when we rescued a pup,I was praying for a name for her and the Lord gave me the name 'Tirzah" which means delight. She certainly was :)

I love it! Tirzah is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for
"talking back" to me!
God bless you,

My son's name is Mikael, which is Michael in Finnish. The meaning, and that it was Biblical name, was very important to me when I chose it for him.
ReplyDeleteEcuador,
ReplyDeleteMy son's name is Michael Gabriel. Man of God!
Blessings,
Laura

ReplyDeleteWe didn't name our first two children with meanings in mind but in the long run when we looked it up it worked out fine. When we named no 2 son and daughter we did make sure they were ok and they were. Thanks for sharing this at Good Morning Mondays. always a blessing to stop by.
ReplyDeleteHi Terri,
ReplyDeleteYou make me wonder what your kids' names are! Blessings!
