Fall -ing For Snow and Christmas?

I'm not believing what I hear!  My kids are demanding that we take down the Fall decorations and put up Christmas decorations!  In November.  Before Thanksgiving.  Even the snow wasn't willing to wait for Fall to finish!  We still have many beautiful golden and red trees.  They look really strange with the snow.

What do you think?

Is it too early to take down Fall and put up Christmas decorations?
I'd love to know what your thoughts about early decorating are.

Blessings,
Laura

  1. Isn't it strange to have snow before Thanksgiving! We're feeling a little mixed up here. :) I sure not ready for Christmas decorations though. We always wait until AFTER Thanksgiving for that. Besides, I have too many orders to get done before December, and I don't want to feel more rushed! :)

Hope you are all doing well! I hear it's your busy season at the restaurant, and you have a new helper for a couple of months. :) I hope that goes well for you!

  2. I am not for Christmas decorating before Thanksgiving. I have never even put my tree up until the first of Dec. I love Thanksgiving and really would leave them up all winter. I don'd do much at all now because it's just the two of us and we usually go off to the kids! Let them put up and take down what they like! lol!

  4. You got more snow than me, but it sure does put you in the Christmas decorating mood! I'll wait till my annual Black Friday decoration marathon!!

  5. I usually start packing up the Autumn decorations on Thanksgiving night. Since I no longer go shopping on black Friday, I often decorate then. This year I'm not sure what I'll do. We'll be working at the restaurant all weekend including Friday and Saturday nights.

    Blessings to you Friend Sue!
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  6. I always think Thanksgiving first then Christmas. For some reason though I'm like your children I feel Christmas this year. Maybe it's the snow and cold. We just didn't have much of a Fall, so that might be the deal.
Sometimes we have to give in and do what we feel like I guess.

  7. Dear Laura, This made me laugh! I think if you are ready, go for it! Because Christmas only comes once a year!
But Happy Thanksgiving first to you all!
And then let's have pumpkin pie....

  8. I'm not ready, Roxy, but I do think I'll start putting away just a few fall decorations. Things are going to get really busy at the restaurant on the weekends. I may not get it all done if I don't start soon.

I'd like a piece of pecan pie as well as pumpkin!

    Happy Thanksgiving my friend.

  9. I started decorating earlier this year than I ever have and I put them up a couple weeks ago. It is a bit different for me here in Canada though because we had our Thanksgiving near the begining of October. We have had early snow here as well. I just love the anticipation of Christmas and for me once the season is over I like to take the stuff down. So I was wanting to extend the season by starting earlier :)

  10. Hello Morgan,
I like to put things up after Thanksgiving, which is the last Thursday in November this year here in the U.S. I then like to take Christmas things down about a week after Christmas, though I have left decorations up until Epiphany, January 6th.

I like to take down the big tree and put up a smaller tree with snowflakes and snowmen for January.

    Blessings,
    Laura

  12. Sarah, I usually wait until after Thanksgiving, but I am not hosting it this year so I decided that I would start in the basement. Kind of fun to just take it slow and do a little each day. I've been sewing in between. On Sat. I even took the plunge and switched out our bedroom to Christmas décor. Yesterday we went over to our sons home. I couldn't believe how many homes I saw with their trees up already. I say do whatever makes you (and your kids) happy! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,

  13. Hi Jann,
I love the idea of decorating the bedroom, too. Maybe next year. I'm beginning to sneak some of the fall decorations downstairs, but I'll wait until Thanksgiving night to put up decorations.

Blessings to you from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,

  14. I've still got my tree up, and I'm still enjoying Christmas without the pressure of getting ready for it!
