My Daybook ~ June 14, 2016

Join us at The Simple Woman!
Dear Ladies,

Hello!
It's Tuesday morning. Last weekend was full with my daughter's graduation, a wedding, and an engagement party. Today I have had a rare day entirely at home. I've enjoyed it. Supper's waiting on the stove. I made a nice chicken soup and my daughter made biscuits.

Thanks for dropping by! May God grant you the desires of your heart as you delight in Him.
God bless you!
Laura

For Today... June 14, 2016

Outside my window... It's partly cloudy and hot. Maybe I should say mostly cloudy, there's just a bit of blue peeking through.

I am thinking... about my daughter, Emily's, transcript and helping her finish the college application process.

I am thankful... that my kids love each other and enjoy each other's company.
My Littles a few years ago.
I am wearing... black shorts (only because I'm staying home) and a blue gauze peasant blouse.

I am creating... hmmm... not really anything at the moment, but I still hope to get my sewing machine out later this week and sew up something small...not sure what yet. I didn't get it out last week. Actually, I might make some baby bibs. I could add them to my gift box for baby showers. I like to make things ahead of time and save them for when I need them. I might use one this tutorial. I used to make baby bibs for all the baby showers. I like to repurpose old, soft denim to make boy bibs.
I am going... nowhere today unless I need to get something at the grocery. Here's what I learned from my little dog about open doors.
Penny's always ready to go.
I am wondering... how to adjust to life with my children nearly grown.

I am reading... I'm reading the book of John. I've been using a facsimile copy of Kenneth Copeland's KJV which shows his notes and his Bible studies.

I am hoping... to finish everything up for this school year this week. Then I can think about next year. ~smile~ I also hope to get some things photographed to start selling online. Help me Amy!

A favorite quote for today...
"Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you."  Nathaniel Hawthorne
A peek into one of my days...

One of my favorite things... Frozen lemonade from Sonic

From the Board Room... I've got lots of Trim Healthy Mama Beverage ideas pinned on Pinterest.

Have a wonderful week!

    1. College application was a cinch. It's the FAFSA and financial aid process that's been tricky. ~smile~

  4. Ah, Laura, that Penny is adorable. I love her sweet face.

Preparing a high school transcript seems like such a daunting task, doesn't it? It's been 2008 and 2010 since I did them for my kids, so I don't remember for sure the name of the book I used to help me in the process. I think it was Transcripts Made Easy, and it was invaluable to me. My son didn't go on to college, but the United States Army and Alaska Airlines found his transcript satisfactory. And my daughter got into college with the one I prepared for her. So, if you're looking for a bit of help, I suggest that book.

Life after the children are grown...maybe some have found it easy, but I have found the adjustment to be difficult. I'm fine now, and I'm enjoying this new season, but there were a few years that were very hard and emotional for me. I understand where you are coming from.

    Have a lovely day,

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Patti. I had a hard time adjusting to being a stay-at-home mom. I don't know what the future will hold, but I hope to be a stay-at-home wife.
Thank you for sharing your story.
