My Daybook ~ March 6, 2017

______________________________

For Today
March 6, 2017

♥♥

Looking out my window...
LOTS of wind. Hubby says that it's blowing in a storm this afternoon or this evening.

I am thinking...
about God's love for us and His desire to bless us. I'm also thinking about my friend, Ellen, who is very ill with bacterial meningitis. She's in my prayers often.

I am thankful...
that I now have a safe stove to cook on. Thank you Jesus for your gift through my friend Peggy and her husband.

One of my favorite things...
Worthers Original hard caramel candies

 I am learning...
to trust the Lord more and more.

I am creating...
order out of chaos... at least that's what it feels like on Monday mornings. ~wink~

I am wearing...
my grey slacks and black long sleeved t-shirt.

I am reading...

I am hoping...
that my husband gets to our little home improvement project this week. We are going to paint the bathroom. He wants to remove the popcorn from the ceiling first. We've bought the ceiling paint and scraper he needs. He'd like to paint the room a soft green.

In my kitchen...
Life happened last week, and my menu changed. Here are some things that will probably make their appearance this week.

  • Grand Greek Salad (from Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook)
  • Chicken Jalapeno Popper Soup (from Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook)
  • Lentils and Rice

In the Boardroom...

This is one of my favorite book series.

*Update on Ellen: She had a major stroke Monday and was taken in for emergency brain surgery Monday night. Please continue to pray!

Update on Ellen March 21, 2017 7:26 p.m.
God is so good! Ellen was able to send me a text the other day. Whether she typed it or not, I don't know. I feel like she is coming back from the dead—again. She has been transferred to a rehabilitation hospital. Thank you for your prayers for her. She has a long way to go, but she is improving. Bless God!

Thank you!

Have a wonderful week. Remember, you are loved with an everlasting love by the creator of the universe, Father God, Jesus His Son, and Holy Spirit. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you.

  2. It has been crazy-windy here for going on 3 days.
I think a soft green will be so nice in a bathroom.
I smiled at your "boardroom" 😍

    1. I hope things settle down weather wise. It's beautiful here today after the crazy storm system that crossed the US yesterday.
Enjoy today. I've got to do something so that something will get done now!

    1. Hi Nellie,
Thank you! You'd be amazed how many comments I get about the birds!
It looks like Spring here. The sun is shining and leaves and grass are budding. I saw some yellow Forsythia bushes blooming yesterday in town.
      Enjoy today!

  4. I think life changed and so did our menu is an appropriate mantra for all of us, because life throws us a curveball on occasion. (Or lots of occasions)

    1. Yes. Lots of occasions. I've got teens that come and go now, and we rarely all sit down together.

  5. Very much enjoyed the peak into your day!
Would love to see the bathroom when he is finished.
Would not have thought of that color for one.
But I do have a medium sort of sage green in my tv room.
The window light changes the color all day long,
    And it is wonderful.
The best color choice I ever made for the house,
    Other than pretty white.

    1. You're always so sweet to me Annie. I wish we were neighbors. I'd make a pie and put on some tea! I think that perhaps the tone he's thinking of for the bathroom is a light sage green. I don't like anything in the mint range on walls. I'd like to paint my kitchen a creamy white. One thing at a time. Right now, we have a gallon of white ceiling paint. When he's done in the bathroom, I'm going to see how far I can get with it in the hallway!
      Be blessed,
      Laura

    1. Thank you for praying.
I ended up with chicken pot pies (store bought) since we have a meeting at our house tonight. Definitely not on the menu plan but life happens.

I read all comments and appreciate them.
Please make sure I have your email if you want me to respond or pray for you.

God bless you! This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
