Hints of Fall are showing up early here and there...
- Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino in the gas station drink dispenser
- Pumpkin Spice Creamer in the stores
- I saw one maple tree in town that has already turned mostly red! That's unseasonably early. We've had more rain lately and a break in the heat. That's the only reason I can think of that it might have had a jump start on the other trees. We also have sprigs of lilacs blooming! Nature doesn't know which way to turn!
The leaves aren't falling yet, but the tree looked like this kind. |
- I've already been contacted with a couple of offers to review Christmas items. The first review will be in the next week or so. My favorite Christmas book is one I reviewed a couple years called An Endless Christmas by Cynthia Ruchti.
- My bank had fall decorations on the counter and a jack-o-lantern dancing figure on the shelf. I told them it was too early for Halloween!
- We had a marvelously rainy day which brought the temperature down to 69°. It will be back up to 90° tomorrow. Want to make the little degree mark? Here's how to make it and four other cool symbols.
- I put the Falling for Autumn tab back on my blog.
- We've made soup three times in the last week. This recipe was printed in a Gooseberry Patch cookbook!
- Autumn decorations are selling in the stores.
Yes, by the calendar Autumn is still weeks away, but it's showing early signs all around us. Are you seeing any sign in your hometown?
Blessings,
Laura

2. Will you please comment and let me know if you have my blog listed on your blog? I would like to return the favor.
Thanks so much!

I’m still reading you blog and love seeing how things are going. I don’t have a blog myself. The soup recipe looks delicious and I can’t wait to try it. Hugs,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're still here Sandi. I am sorry I'm not posting regularly right now. I'm still trying to find my groove in balancing all the things I have energy and responsibility for now.
DeleteLaura, it's not Fall until you post your official Fall Bucket list! I get ideas for mine from yours!
ReplyDeleteI still say prayers for you every night.
Well Debby, I'm having surgery this fall again, but I think a bucket list is just the thing we need. I'll have to get started on writing it. I usually like to wait until the first day of fall, but if I get it finished early, I think I'll go ahead and post it. Thank you for prayers. I'm still healing. I have quite a bit of pain from one of the drugs I'll be taking for quite some time and from radiation.
DeleteGod bless you and help you feel well my friend.
Laura in Missouri
Would never dream of deserting you dear lady. Your blog is a highlight to my inbox! Sometimes I get a little lax, (OK..a LOT lax) in replying or commenting. Just letting the busyness of life get in the way sometimes and get sidetracked on what priorities are and should be...like time for God first, family, and not sweating the small things. I am so thankful for your recovery, and am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers daily. Sending you a gentle hug across the miles. Some day, when you are all healed up and can handle it, I'll send a BIG BEAR HUG!.
ReplyDeleteYou're a doll Karla. Thank you for being my head cheerleader! I understand about commenting. Especially since they quit sending things to my inbox, I haven't kept up. Good news! I figured out how to get the comments again. So I'm back to replying as much as I can. I cannot wait until I collect a hug in person! Praying for you and your family.
DeleteVirtual hug,
Laura
Hi, I still look forward to reading each of your blogs they are a blessing to me. And am still praying for you all. Your fall picture collage is like a breath of fresh air here in the desert. ha ha
ReplyDeleteLove to you
Oh thank you Connie. Thank you for praying. It is going to take a long time to heal from the radiation, chemo and surgeries. I have another surgery sometime in the next month.
DeleteBlessings to you!
Laura
I'm still reading your blog. I'm ready for fall too. We are finally at the end of monsoon season though I will miss the rain watering my plants😊
ReplyDeleteHi Regina! It's been too long. I figured out how to get email notifications for comments. It makes it a heap easier. I am behind, but maybe I can answer a few comments daily. Where do you live that you have monsoons?
DeleteBlessings,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage
I am just now catching up with a few blogs I haven't visited for a while, since I've had a struggle getting time to read many this summer. However, I do enjoy yours a lot:).
ReplyDeleteOn my blog, I seriously do not know how to make a list of favorites. I tend to see that more on Blogger than Wordpress, which is what I have. I still have MUCH to learn about blogging.
I have been reading your blog for a while now, and am really glad you can put the cancer behind you, and get to doing some things you enjoy. I have prayed for you several times, when the Lord brings you to mind, and am glad you are healing.
Oh Becky! Thank you. You're too kind. I have a Wordpress blog, too, but I rarely post on it. I started using Blogger years ago and find it easier not to learn something new right now. I'm ashamed I even typed that!
DeleteI'll be over to see your blog in just a bit. God bless you and thank you so much for sticking with me through this cancer fight and for praying for me.
Sincerely,
Laura Lane
Autumn is arriving here in the Rocky Mountains too. We have trees changing in their colors, seems a little early.
ReplyDeleteWhile we wake up to cool mornings, temps in the low 30's the days warm up to be quite lovely.
Winter is my favorite season, but I'm not real sure I'm ready for the cold this year. I'm finding that my artificial knee is cold even now on hot days,so winter may be a little harsh.
I continue to follow your blog and enjoy your writings as well as keep up with your news, but do not always comment.
Take care ♡
Father God, I thank you for Debbie's knee replacement. I ask that you heal her completely inside and out. She is such a wonderful encourager and long-distance friend. Bless her Lord. Give her strategies for handling fall and winter with her new knee. I ask in Jesus' name. Amen
DeleteHugs to you Debbie!
I am a new reader to your post. I enjoyed your writings about fall. I am so looking forward to this new season. I already have several of my autumn decorations displayed in my home. I have a Yankee Candle with the scent of pumpkin bread releasing a lovely fragrance from my candle warming. I pray your day is filled with God's joys. 🍁🌿🍁🌿🍁
ReplyDeleteHello Dolores! I'm so glad to meet you. I hope we will become blog friends. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year. I haven't purchased a fall scented candle yet. I'll have to put it on my fall bucket list for 2018. May God bless you richly!

I love fall too, but hate to see summer end this year :)...

Hi Laura! I haven't meant to be such a sporadic reader. But I love visiting your sweet blog. I have you in my reader, but I've now added your blog to my email. I don't know why I didn't think to do that before! Anyway, I have two blogs, but don't feel obligated to follow both or either- ourinspiredquest.blogspot.com and camiescozycorner.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for autumn, too! It's my favorite season. I haven't seen many natural signs of it here yet, but the stores are definitely in full swing. I hope this fall is amazing for you and your family. :)
Dear Camie,
DeleteDon't let it bother you a bit. I have been sporadic for many months now. Thanks so much for adding me to your email! That is truly an honor. I hope you will be my blog friend. Do you mind giving me your email so that I can respond directly? Your comment came through as no reply.
Last week I saw a tree that was nearly red in town. It is too early! That should be happening at the beginning of October! I've been sewing a bit each day. It's helping me feel homemakery! I also have cinnamon muffins in the oven. The house is beginning to smell wonderful!
I'm going to drop over to your blogs later this morning. I hope you have a lovely weekend.
God bless!
Laura Lane
Loving this Life!
Yes - even here in central Florida we're feeling Fall in the air. I was able to sit out on the backyard patio without a fan this morning. Haven't been able to do that for a month or two. Some trees are turning colors here - very early - because they usually don't turn till late November.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy FALL!
GG
An early happy fall to you Gail! Are you getting any effects from Florence?
DeletePraying for all in the path now.
Blessings,
Laura
Hi Laura, we had a touch of fall weather and now it's gone. Back in the 90's. At least 10 degrees above normal. I'm looking forward to a bit cooler temps. Too hot for soup here. :) Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Dear Jann,
DeleteOur weather has been a bit fickle, too. Our finances have taken a hit, so I'm doing with what I've got. That means soup in our family!
Blessings,
Laura
