On My Needles... What I'm Reading... February 20, 2019

Hello all!

I finished the book Christy last night.  I'm looking forward to discussing it next week in my book club. I'm still reading some others a few paragraphs at a time. My main emphasis is on Between Two Shores. It's a riveting book that can make time slip by too quickly. I'll share a review in a week or two.

I have been knitting the black ribbing for the Alaska Hat that I am doing as a knit along with my friends Laura and Missy. It's nothing to look at right now, so I'll share next week.  It will be a bluish purple background with black pine trees in the foreground. It's the most challenging colorwork I've tried. I might need to pray while I knit. ~smile~ Seriously though, it will be line upon line, precept upon precept.

I don't believe I shared photos of the dog sweater that I knit for Penny last Autumn.

The pattern is one that I bought from Craftsy which is now called Bluprint.
It's called Clifford Dog Sweater Knitting Kit Bluprint Collections

I'll probably knit another sweater with a few adjustments. I would like it to be a bit snugger around her neck. I think it will stay on better. She has wiggled her way out of it a few times. Generally, she seems to like it. I never thought I'd be the one to knit a dog sweater, but to see her shake when she's cold—well, my momma's heart couldn't see her shivering and not try to help.

Well, for my knitting friends, enjoy this cool weather. I'm thinking about trying socks when spring comes. Then come summer, I'll probably start knitting hats or gloves for charity again. Perhaps I'll look through my photos and see if I can find some other things that I've knitted and share them next week.

Now, I'm going to go get busy with some cleaning so that I can spend a bit of time knitting without guilt.

 Be blessed, and talk back!

  1. Nice knitting, Laura. You are a good momma to your 'baby'. I can't wait to see the hat with the trees in it. I hope you have a wonderful night. xo Diana

    1. Thank you Diana. I try to be a good doggy momma. Cuddling her helps since I don't have littles to cuddle with anymore. ~wink~ I received the needles I need for the tree hat this weekend. So, tomorrow I'll start adding color. Perhaps I'll have enough done to share in a few days. Do you knit or crochet?
      Blessings,

  2. aww the doggie sweater is so cute and so in the doggie! I also feel bad when I'm knitting or sewing if the house is not clean. Have a great week.

    1. Yes, it does make me feel guilty if the house isn't clean, but I am still pacing myself. I get tired easily. I'm improving though!
