Britfield & the Rise of the Lion, Book II of the Britfield Series by C.R. Stewart

This book is sooo good! Britfield & the Rise of the Lion by C.R. Stewart is book two in the Britfield series. I reviewed Britfield & the Lost Crown and couldn't wait for the second book to be released. This is an amazing book. The research Mr. Stewart put into it made it a book rich with descriptions. The intricately detailed plot made it a page turner filled with action, adventure, and deep political intrigue. And yet, this exceptional book is written for young adults and teens. I think it would be well-received by ages 13 on up through adults.  There are plans to make the first book and subsequent books into movies. They will be first-rate action movies.

I don't want to give the plot away, but while reading, one learns geography,  art, and gets a hefty dose of political conspiracy theories as well.  It's intense in some scenes, but there are honorable characters as well as heinous characters.

I found it truly fascinating. I highly recommend this series. I think it's good for both girls and boys, but I think boys will eat it up. After all, there are weapons and altercations involved.

If you've got a teen who likes action, I'd put this series on your shopping list this holiday season.

Now, a note from the publisher.

“Shortly before best friends Tom and Sarah escaped from Weatherly Orphanage in northern England, Tom discovered that his parents might still be alive and was left with a single clue: Britfield. After the harrowing pursuit of Detective Gowerstone across the country and through the city of London, they were thwarted once again when the ferry transporting them across the English Channel sank. Now in France over six months later, Tom and Sarah are trapped on an island fortress and face an entirely new enemy: a nefarious and clandestine group with unlimited resources. Searching for the truth, Tom and Sarah must navigate the streets of Paris, Cathédrale Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre, chased by an assassin determined to remove any potential threat to the British throne. Aided by old friends and new allies, Tom and Sarah’s face-paced adventure is filled with twists and turns, unexpected betrayals, and life-changing revelations.”
