On My Needles and What I'm Reading... August 19, 2021

On my knitting needles... in my Scribd app... on my book pile! Knitting and reading in my free time and little bits of snatched time are two of my favorite ways to enrich my life.

 Hi everyone!

It's the first week of college for my younger daughter and my younger son. One is at the Christian college in the next town. One is at the state university in the next town. My daughter moved into the dorm last Friday. I have to admit I'm missing her. My son's been living on his own for awhile. Sorry about the lack of photos. I've had a week of appointments and haven't transferred any to the computer. I'll do better next week. ~smile~

On my Needles:

~ I finished the dishcloths I was crocheting for a wedding gift. On to knitting.

~ I just cast on a second ankle sock. It's in shades of blue and green. I started the first one in June as part of the Crazy Sock Lady's Summer Camp 2021. When I knit the toe for the second sock, it didn't match. I ripped it out (frogged it) and set it aside. After a break, I was ready for the second one. I'm almost finished with the toe now, and it's looking great.

~I just took a little toddler cap off the needles. It's Helix stripes. Red, yellow, blue, and green. I knit it with yarn my friend, Beth, found for me at a yard sale. She bought a whole box for just $2! Gotta love thrifty buys! Thanks Beth! I'll share a photo later.

On My Scribd App:

~ I'm listening to The New Testament ~ The Audio Bible  narrated by Simon Peterson.

~ I just finished this book. I really enjoyed it. A Time to Seek  by Tracy Higley. I'm reading this for my book club meeting at the end of the month. So far, I've loved everything I've read by Tracy Higley.

On my Book Pile:

~ The Barrister and the Letter of Marque by Todd M. Johnson

~ Husband Auditions by Angela Ruth Strong

Don't forget to be in God's word. I'm in Luke right now.

Have a blessed week. Please let me know if you have a prayer request. Talk to you soon!

 Hugs to all,

P.S. One of my favorite things is listening to audio books on Scribd. This month it is Alice in Wonderland for my book club. I keep telling you about Scribd, because it has been such an game changer for me.

It's only $9.99 a month for unlimited audiobooks from major publishers, books, magazines, sheet music, podcasts, and documents as you want.

I get well over $9.99 a month in value. I love it.

You can get a free 2 month trial by using my Scribd  link. I'll get a month free, too, so it's win-win to try it out.

Here are some books I've enjoyed recently.

God bless you! This life only works with Jesus. The next life is a continuation of this one—make sure you spend it with Jesus. Jesus is the only way to God the Father!
