Things I Love About My Husband

Image
Things I love about my husband: He was my first love. He is a godly man. He encourages me to do the things I enjoy doing. He has stayed faithful to me for over thirty-five years. He has given me four children to love and encourage. He is a giver. He cares for others. He works hard for our little family of two. He calls me during the day. He will not leave me. He is fully committed. He is optomistic even when I'm not. He puts gas in the car. He checks the oil and puts air in my tires.  He takes care of me. He drops me off at the door and then goes to get the car. He loves me even when I'm unloveable. He goes to work even when he doesn't feel like it. He's growing old with me. We started at 16! He's my endless love. Did I mention he's a great cook? Happy Birthday Lowell! I love you! Laura Blessed to be Lowell's Girl ~~~~~ May I suggest? Thankful ~~~~~

Five Ways to Find Time to Read

Image
Winter is the best time of year to grab a blanket, a hot cup of something soothing, and settle in with a good book.  Once upon a time, a long time ago, in the land of no children and husband traveling for work, I would do just that after I got home from work.  Then, I would read for hours until bedtime or beyond!  That was a long time ago, over 30!    Someone once asked me how I found time for reading.  It's a fair question.  After all, I do review a fair number of books.  Here are some of the ways I found time to read with children at home.  ~~~Five Ways to Find Time To Read~~~   1)  My children were required to read an hour a day every day.  Sometimes I read during that hour, also. We homeschooled, and they liked to read. We started with 30 minutes lying down and looking at books when they were very young.   2)  I often read when the family was busy with a video or s...

Fall Around Here

Image
Fall has been breezing by much quicker this year. Why? I don't know. It's just been busy enough that I cannot believe we're more than a week into November! I feel like every time I come here, I need to apologize that I've not been here more. Rather than do that, I'll show a few photos of fall happenings around the cottage. My step-dad bought us a tv.  We hadn't had one for several months.  He didn't know how we could go without one! The newlyweds came over to carve pumpkins. The pumpkins were part of their wedding decorations. Dawson and Amy I've been reading books from my Fall Reading List . My daughter Emily and my son Matthew aslo enjoyed pumpkin carving together. Matthew's creation. The pumpkin was white!   Emily's pumpkin was nice and traditional! I forgot to take a photo of the one my Lowell and I carved! Lots of little hats, ten so far! They're gifts. Banana bread minis! Duolingo Spanish Bengay... My husband is having problems with hi...

Happy November!

. This isn't a great picture of me. I don't take selfies very well. I actually took this picture, because I wanted to remember how I was wearing my shawl. The shawl is called Reyna, and it's available on Ravelry for free. I am thankful for friends who challenge me to do hard things. Reyna was very hard for me. My knit night friends cheered me on and gave me a push and help when I needed it. What hard things are you. doing or attempting?  God bless! Laura
