Fall Around Here

Fall has been breezing by much quicker this year. Why? I don't know. It's just been busy enough that I cannot believe we're more than a week into November! I feel like every time I come here, I need to apologize that I've not been here more. Rather than do that, I'll show a few photos of fall happenings around the cottage.



My step-dad bought us a tv. 
We hadn't had one for several months. 
He didn't know how we could go without one!


The newlyweds came over to carve pumpkins.

Currently my sister-in-love is visiting from New Jersey. She'll be here for another week. My brother-in-love will be here in a couple of days. He's going to stay a week, too. Sunday, all my kids, their loves, and my husband's aunt, uncle, and cousin will be here. Thirteen in all! No, not a Thanksgiving dinner, but a big gathering none-the-less. The current plan is pulled pork!

Well, I need to get busy now. I have plans to make and implement. Have a wonderful week!

My Spicy Can Opener Soup was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas!

Just had to share this with you again.   My recipe was published in Gooseberry Patch Hometown Christmas! I have to admit, I was truly surprised when I received a letter from Gooseberry Patch requesting permission to use my recipe in their newest Christmas cookbook.  I've sent in some more complicated recipes, but this one is easy peasy! It's truly a recipe that I threw together using items from my nearly bare kitchen cupboards last winter. I called it Spicy Can Opener Soup.  They changed the name, but the ingredients remain the same.   I was thrilled to receive my very own copy of the book .  Of course, I had to make it up and take some photos to share with you dear ladies. Just Who is Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage?

I'm a big city girl gone small town girl gone country and finally gone back to small town. I live in southern Missouri between Oz and the Ozarks.  I have four children. My daughters live at home. My twenty-four year old daughter is finishing her master's degree through online university, and my 20 year old daughter goes to Christian college. My sons live on their own nearby. The 22 year old son and my 31 year old sons live nearby. I homeschooled all of my children from the beginning through high school. My eldest son went to high school for a year and a half.
